When my older brother never came home in 1966 from Vietnam..This song was on the charts and played a lot on the radio at the time..it really brings tears to my eyes still today when I hear it...God Bless every Honorable veteran that ever served...I hope all you all can appreciate this song like I do..

My great uncle never did come home from getting shot down over Germany, but my grandmother all her life believed he would, someday. They've brought home a few guys from Nam as recently as this year.

Thank You for posting that Frixxxx.
As always on Veterans Day and Memorial Day, I feel a little guilty as I am a Vietnam era veteran who never did a SEA tour.
Reading back a little I find Buster's post about his brother and it makes me sad. Condolences Buster.
I had an older cousin who did two Viet Nam tours. He survived them physically but the cousin I grew up with got lost over there somewhere. He died of cancer about 10 years ago.
Maybe this year I will get over it and go get a free meal some where.:D
Thanks to James for starting this last year.
From a veteran to all veterans...Thank You.
Please, no platitudes about my service or guilt.:)
