I finally made it into the site. Made my IFT, I hope I beat the dead line. Also tsptalk.com went down for me. About 5 minutes. Anyone else?

I finally got in when I went directly to the account access page - whether it was going to come on then anyway is unk... But when I tried to get back to the message board - it was gone, and then home page gone too. I sent Tom e-mail about it -

Hopefully everyone who wanted to get ift accomplished did get it done w/i the time limits - and if any of us missed it turns out to the good............

I've seen it before, I first noticed it at 11:05am est and I knewright then that was a bad sign. So many people were trying to bail to protect last weeks profits, that it caused a major system slow down. For those who waited patiencely for each window to open, they might have finally got through. I started at 11:30 and it took 12 minutes just to complete the transfer. For those whogot in, if you didn't see the final message that stated your ' transfer is confirmed should be completed within two business days' your session may have timed out and did not go through.:X I noticed that the TSP Talk did go downaround 11:45.Once again Toms faithful followers ganging up on the site to seek he wisdom and moves. Crash.......

TSP site seems to be running real slow again today. If you make a transfer, wait patiencely for the window to open up, also after you submit your request, make sure you see the the confirmation window come up. If you don't see it then your request may have timed out. Do it again until youcan confirm your request. Good luck. Something has to be done to fix this problem.

I noticed that copy and paste from tsp.gov Share Price page does not seem to jive with Tom/tsptalk spreedsheet. This is when all of our problems with tsp.gov site started.

"During the first eight months of 2004, the TSP Web site received an average of 15.7 million hits per month and processed about 217,000 transactions monthly."

It would be interesting to know how many came from members or visitors of TspTalk.

;)

In a 31 day month that is an average of 7000 transactions daily. There is 858 member on TSP talk so if all of us did a transaction in a given day that would only be about 12% of the hits.

There are currently about 4200 membersreceiving the email alerts. That 858 is just message board members.

I have a suggestion for you Tom. The report suggests that outside web sites are doing a better job of informing TSP users. The 4200 e-mails you send is a larger market base than your 858 board people. This is where I would survey to see if the 4200 users would be interested in a small fee monthly, say $2 for your e-mail alert if so than grandfather your loyal board members and privatize it.My major is marketing so I believe your market lies with your e-mail user.
