I see this turning into a story framed to make it appear feds are overpaid and overcompensated.

I clicked the link saw the photo and caption (completely unrelated to the meat of the story, of course) and knew your reaction was 100% spot on.

Edit: And the reaction is so ridiculous but spot on for what happens at my office. Rather than individually punish those who acted irresponsibly everyone gets punished...regardless of whether or not they were involved in infractions from top level officials.


"Accounting procedures are being revamped, and there will be more oversight over conference planners and contractors, Mecher said. All employees will be required to take mandatory training in conference planning. Travel budgets for several regional offices have been reduced, and future conferences in the western region, which hosted the Nevada event, were canceled."
