I'm considering a position in New Orleans.

Is there anyone here who is living or have lived there?

I'd like to know about specific areas. I have no kids at home, but still want to maintain/upgrade the current style of neighborhoods I enjoy now.

Also, want to know many local hangouts/attractions.

Please, I know about hurricanes and tropical storms. So I really don't need to hear about them.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Too much crime for my taste. That being said, there are some nice properties along Lake Pontchartrain near the university on Lakeshore Drive. The area of Algiers (specifically Algiers Point) is also a nice place. I stayed with friends while looking for a place to live. Most people that I know either live in Metairie or Algiers Point.

I don't have permission to go to Big Daddy's, the wife doesn't like it. Before I was married was a different story, Hubba Hubba!

Say it ain't so Frixxxx. We haven't had breakfast yet. As life unfolded since we mentioned this over a year ago, my wife and her cousin decided that all visits would be in AZ so I haven't been to the Inland Empire since.

No doubt life is unfolding as it should. We are all too busy for a southwest TSPTalk meeting. That is true though unfortunate.

Shhh. Be careful. If the commissar of the contributing proletariat (ie. wage earners) of the PRK hears you are planning to defect, there may be repercussions.

The last time I was in New Orleans was 1973, being towed around by a fellow airman and his parents showing a yankee what Merdi Gras was all about. I don't remember which town they lived in, just that it was on the Biloxi side of New Orleans.

Best of luck in the proposed move. Back to the subject. Surely someone here can answer Mr. Frixxxx's questions.

Just remembered Slidell is another town/area many newcomers move to. Depending on where you work, it could be quite a drive.
