Thanks Tom, you're doing right by your son which is what is important now. For everyone here, as we move to the right on the age scale, its a good idea to pre-plan our final arraignments. Of course its not something anyone really wants to think about, but to have something for those left behind to go to and find that everything has been put in place would save allot of angst, guesswork and jumping through hoops at a very emotional time. Have an estate plan, make bank and investment accounts TOD (transfer on death) to beneficiaries, update insurance policies, create trusts, have wills and POAs drawn up, choose your resting place and buy the plot, have instructions for last rights, church services, etc. as your beliefs and desires dictate, transfer property at appropriate times... all that good stuff, organized, while your able. I had to do all of that, and managed to get it all right, I think. Do your next of kin a favor...
