We will delete rule breaking posts, but deleting old posts just to make room or make less cluttered is not how to manage or organize a forum, just as news sites don't delete old stories. Yes, forums can get large but normally the old stuff makes its way to the bottom, though it's still available to search.
We have a good sized forum with over a half million posts, but compare that to the big ones and you can see that we are tiny in comparison.
The Biggest Boards - Size Matters
The larger ones have tens and hundreds of millions of posts, with the top one having 8.5 billion posts.
I'd like to BleachBit a few conversations, but that's just not the way it's done.
