Don't take the BAIT folks, some folks like to start fires, that draws attention to them. That's no way to make friends but it makes them feel important..

I like it alevin, let me see what I can put together when I have some time.
Which of the billion sub forums shall I put it in?
account thread is always the most appropriate place to discuss why one chooses the tsp investing path they do, and how well it's doing for them, or not. cobbler, stick to thy own last. as far as Birch goes, yes, he definitely holds opinions on things other than B&H, and chose to express them pretty clearly, with a certain j'e ne sai quoi. I'm speaking to his B&H lifetime of consistent methodology in how he built up his retirement account. after all, interest in building up our retirement accounts is the primary reason most of us joined the forum in the first place. Birch accomplished what few of us here have, but he had his strategy figured out pretty much from the getgo and stuck with it all the way to retirement, consciously. And he even moved around in his tsp every now and then based on his prognosis of how various funds were being affected and were likely to be affected, his tsp approach wasn't immutable.
Again, I'll only say so much about someone not here to defend themselves...but who here has been to his bank, or logged into his TSP...and seen his account numbers?

ok, Q. I confess I haven't done any of those things. Still, from what I saw of him over the years, he was consistent in his expressed beliefs, political, social and investing. If he had an agenda in promoting b&h all those years on this site, I failed to see it. My point in bringing his name into this thread is to invite the dr to not tear others here down for going about managing their tsp accounts as they see fit, but simply hold her position on b&h and their own rationale for that choice, if that is what the dr holds to be best way to go about their own business. as Birch did.
Alright alevin, I see your point. You're right, (there's one of those phrases I talk about) he didn't seem to hide much. I tend to believe he did well also. But I do recognize that we can't be certain.
We see on the news all the time how shocked people are to find out that someone they thought they know well, in real life, was living a lie for a long time...undetected. And here we all are...only internet acquaintances.

Alevin,
So I LOVE your reasoned, rational responses to the flames !!! You Go, Girl !!! Birch had his approach, and stuck to it !
In the end, we ALL make our own investment decisions...that's what makes this Board great !!! Others slam the Premiums ; slam Q ; slam Burro and his Ark ! Whatever... Go it alone, or pick the one that you're comfortable with...
Waiting for the good Doctor to reveal his awesome strategy...maybe set up a "premium service" here, with back tested returns that beat the crap out of others ???

Humor is good, especially while you're making money. Glad I could help! I'm trying to figure out who sent you here, but I'm not gonna spend too much time figuring it out either. When you're ready for a challenge, let me know. Haven't lost one yet...................isn't that funny!!!

No one sent me here, nnuut can tell you that based on the IP (he also said don't take the bait, so beware). I love the paranoia here, it's great!
My strategy is buy and hold with a fairly aggressive approach. Pretty much that simple.
Also that isn't the topic of this thread. The topic being discussed here is that there are too many damn sub forums, some of which that haven't had a post in five years.
