Anybody else not have their expected contribution show up in their account balance today? I suggested to the person at the the Thriftline that maybe it is delayed due to the holiday? She said, yes that's 'probably' it. <shaking head ruefully>

I always have trouble remembering when ifts post around a holiday weekend? Will an IFT made tomorrow before noon ET post end of day tomorrow (friday) at tomorrow's share prices or at next Tuesday's share prices? Also, would this count towards May's IFT limits or count against June?

This is from the official tsp site:
When will my interfund transfer be effective?
If you request an interfund transfer on this Web site or the ThriftLine before 12 noon eastern time, your request will ordinarily be processed and posted to your account at the close of business on that day. Requests made after 12 noon eastern time will ordinarily be processed and posted to your account at the close of business on the following business day. If you use Form TSP-50, your request will generally be processed and posted to your account within 5 business days of the day it is received by the TSP.

So, I would say that an IFT tomorrow before noon should post end of the day (Friday) and will count as an IFT for May.

Thanks Blue! Thinking about making a short term move but had an Oh Crap moment not wanting to use one of June's IFTs. Thanks again.

    That's a tight one Scout:toung:

It should post on Friday. However, have you noted the wishy-washy language quoted by Bluehenge. Yuk. Personally, I have never had a trade executed late so I think that the verbiage is legalese.

How much will you sell your IFT for?

I need one; they are the most expensive assets we have in our TSP repertoire

The language on the TSP.gov site is definitely non commital.

I don't do a lot of IFTs but have never had one transacted before noon EASTERN time not be effective at COB that day. A transaction after 1200 EDT tomorrow will be made as of COB Tuesday. The time stamp is the TSP site's, not necessarily your computers. Always give them an e-mail address and request a confirmation. You have to do this for each IFT. Sometimes the e-mails have taken 48 hours to arrive but have always arrived. These e-mails show you the number of shares you own in each fund both before and after the transaction.

Thanks for your help guys! Thinking too much will get you in trouble every time! Ouch! Got in just in time for yesterday's slide. Then compounded the problem by anticipating breaking even by close of business Monday , got nervous and jumped back out Tuesday just in time to miss the recovery today! Double ouch!! Now where did I leave those sticky pants? In or out? Pick a side. Bear or Bull? Hmmmm.
