    Maybe Powerball?

Nice pop just faded. I'm guessing down another 1% today. Discouraged.
    Is today Saturday again?

China was down 5.3% last night. Oil is down another 3% nearing $32.

Mixed in Asia although Japan is the big one in the I-fund. China is just a market catalyst for now.

Oil futures are down to 30.60 right now - looks like we may see a 29 handle before the day is done.

The markets loves to mock... oil fell to 30.40 but quickly after I posted that but rebounded strongly and moved over $32 briefly this morning and currently trading near 31.80. No 29 handle today. (of course now that I've said that...)

Yup, mocking. 30.13 last price. Will $30 / $29 be a psychological low?

While I'm sitting in the Salt Lake City airport waiting for my connecting flight to Honolulu, let me shoot out a quick post.

Not many are talking about it, but the Baltic Dry Index is at lows not seen in decades. Zerohedge has a story on it. It ain't pretty.

Interesting. That index was kind of dismissed after years of being ineffective as an indicator, but decade lows?

That's the thing about indicators. You first have to find what they're really good at indicating--or how to best use them. Maybe this one is best used as a binary indicator: Either "No Indication," or "All Hell is About to Break Loose."

(More) Seriously, the RSI was being bashed on the internet as an ineffective indicator. A guy comes forward and explains how he uses the RSI in conjunction with another indicator.

It was brilliant. I don't remember what he said--but it was brilliant.
