we are nearing the end of another quarterly 3-month season and we've been playing as a club for about a year, and i wonder now that the regular members have settled out if maybe it is time to tweak the structure of the games. there are 11 members of which sillbeer has never played and firedog hasn't played for months, so 9 of us somewhat 'regulars' take the time to participate. what works best for those who put in the work?

    1) the alternating sunday and monday nights is distracting to me and it seems there is less participation on mondays, maybe due to east coast/west coast time lags and job schedules. would a straight sunday nights game work better for some? worse for others? also, monday nights interfere with my tv story '24 legacy' so i have to watch half of the programs on my computer the next day which irritates me.

    2) the start time of 8:00 pm is late for the east but early for the west with a 3 hour local time difference. would a later start time make it easier for more to participate? like maybe 8:30 et? or would that be too late for the easties?

    3) the quarterly season stats are calculated on 10 of 13 possible games, but i'm the only one so far this season who has played 10 games with 2 left to go. and I've finished top 3 except for one anomaly at 7th place. that means that if i finish better than 7th in the next two games then i get to drop my worst performance this season. everybody else is going to have to take a straight average of all their games including mistakes. maybe a lower number of 'for keepsies' games would be more equitable? like 9 or maybe even 8? both are around 3/4 of possible matches.

anyways, if there are structural changes that need to be adjusted before the next season starts, then now is the time, make your voice heard. i'm basically on a freeroll as i pretty much have this locked up. also, if you are low on ass whoopins, i'm fixin to open up a big can of it tonight. come git some.
    1. Yes Sundays only
    2. Okay with 8 or 8:30pm Eastern time.
    3. Keep the same -10 of 13 top games count

I ditto Annie on all 3. No problem sticking with alternating SunMon if we moved time back to 830 eastern. I think Tom liked the alternating day schedule, but he can restate his preference when he gets around to it. LOL on the screencapture, KO. too much.

alternating weeks is hard to keep track of, but I'm OK with it. I think Monday is better for Tom. I too miss 24 on Mondays, but I can watch it On Demand the next day, no biggie.

I wouldn't mind pushing it back up to an hour, to 9pm. We haven't really been going all that late.

Yeah, Mondays are probably better, just because I am not always home Sunday evening, but whatever you guys want to do. As you noticed, I have missed several games this season. I have been going south for stretches to get away from the snow this winter, and had access to live games in NV casinos.

The time is fine, but later works too.

so last game of this 'season' is monday, monday, monday night. the battle of the titans, get your tickets now, now, now.

as to the 3 questions posed:

1, there's no interest in reducing the number of games that count for 'season' standings from 10 to 8 or 9. that is good because most of my places are high and i've played all games ever so i always get to drop my 3 worst performances, most others are stuck with a straight 10 game average or less.

2, there is support for switching to sunday only games, not alternating sundays and mondays, but mondays work better for at least one player and most don't have a huge problem with it and we don't need to discourage anybody from participating because we only got about 9 regulars anyways.

3, most are ok with 8pm et start time on sundays, but a later start on mondays would be better for west coast players to give them time to get home from work and join the debauchery. i am ok either way because i'm up way past that every day, it usually takes me until midnight to drink myself into coma.

verdict: i am not a judge, but it seems to me that 10/13 is good for season standings, alternating sundays and mondays work best to engage the most players, and a later start time of 8:30 or 9:00 would get more participation on the weekday night games.

speak up, or hold your piece.

i think we should just leave the schedule, alternating weeks, the same. its not broken, and we don't have the best record of adapting to changes lol.

anyone opposed to changing the time to 830 or 9?
