Uh, still spelled her name wrong, kuz. It's winter thyme. not winter-hyme. thyme: an aromatic tasty herb used in cooking flavorsome fish, chicken, peas and anything else that comes to mind. grown in this one's backyard garden along with a number of other aromatic herbs used in cooking delicious homemade meals from scratch. basil, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. someone wrote a beautiful song about those herbs some time ago. Scarborough Fair.

What can we learn by looking at a carnival, a casino, and the stock market as simple-closed systems? | Zero Hedge

this is fundamental knowledge, the game of closed systems.

at the carnival, you expect to lose because the house rigs the game.
at the casino, the house also rigs the game (odds).
in the market, well that is just forkin rigged.

but poker is different, poker is not a closed system. in fact, poker is wide open, full throttle. sure, the house keeps the lights on and pays the dealers (overhead), but you are playing for players' money, not house money.
in poker you can affect the outcome, by hand selection, by bs, by bet size, by math, by lots of things. in poker you are not playing for house money, you are playing for your opponent's money. and that makes all the difference, it is personal.
poker is a social game above all else, and there is no love in poker. but there are monsters, and it is a rich field.

You really made me question my sanity, because if it was STILL wrong then that meant it had been wrong since day 1

Even pulled up pokerstars and compared the name to the spreadsheet... then went back to the forum and saw your follow up post.

No word from Minnow yet. I guess if I was a minnow I wouldn't want to swim with the sharks either.

(did someone use that joke already?)

there's a game on tonight at 8 pm eastern, the third game of the new quarterly season. the gals have been crushing it with berry and winter taking down the first two games. c'mon boys, let's give 'em a run for the money.

well, we seem to be having difficulty attracting interest and new players, maybe it would help if i offered to sweeten the pot? what about a side bet or challenge system?

i could wager a matchup of "strip selfie poker" with any player who is willing to take the bet. it works like this:
    - two players make a deal to start with say 8 articles of clothing and exchange beginning selfies
    - after each game, whoever finishes lower than their opponent "pays up" and sends a new selfie minus one article of clothing
    - there is a safety valve for those who may fear a little too much personal revelation or don't have their hacked naked pics already plastered all over facebook... any player can quit at any time but only after settling the last bet, you have to call off the wager before the next game starts or else you're on the hook.

    anybody interested?

just in case somebody is considering the offer, here is what i'll start with:

    2 boots
    2 socks
    1 jeans
    1 shorts
    1 trump hat

    and... a hoodie sweatshirt.

(i thought about wearing that fishnet tanktop i still have from the eighties, but i'm saving it for a special occasion).

Oh Stu, I can't resist giving a reply. I would wear a red Trump hat too.... good choice! But, no games here....I think the Cuda would rather strip you of all your chips, bite by little bite with a big chomp at the end!!! Getting my teeth sharpened up for the game tonight...at a very nice salon. Game on! hummmm... now on to that Minnow.... here little minnow! . Lol...
