Thread: Challenge Coin Collections

    Default Challenge Coin Collections

Does anyone here collect challenge coins? They're fancy coins that the armed services and that some federal agencies give out. I started collecting a rocket coin collection (4 coins) and am wondering if I should stop before it becomes a waste of money or if they'd be valuable one day.

Don't collect them if your expectation is that they will have any value in the future to anyone other than yourself...

My thoughts above. But, depending upon where you are in life and in your career, these things can be a source of pride. I have a few but only one coin means anything to me. It is a coin that I earned as a member of a special unit that I was part of years ago.

They didn't give it to me to collect, I earned it.

Enjoy the hobby and good luck!

I have on of those coins, got it when I retired. I didn't know what to do with it so I glued it to the Glass triangular case my retirement American Flag came in.

I have about 300, I received them for different occasions and performance for my career......mostly from people who just wanted to recognize excellent performance. I'll dig some out and post pictures....but they're handed out like candy, so not sure what coin you are referring. Post a pic?
THIS IS WHERE I WOULD PUT SOMETHING TO REPRESENT MY THINKING, BUT THEN THEY SHOW UP!
