Ok, since we got this "looking into the past" thing all worked out ... how do we "look" into the future? How can the "future affect the past"? Sounds strange, but ... Does the future "exist"?

This is tough stuff for a Friday am ... no drinking yet. Now, you understand that some may be interested in future lotto numbers or wall street news, but I'm just interested in the science.

As long as space is expanding, I would say no.

Let's say a "matter exchange" has to occur when "traveling" through time. The matter of you in current state will be in a different state in the future. If you exchange the matter in the future state with the past state, then you have "altered" the past as well as the future. So the question becomes closed and open universe. More brain cells required.....going for more coffee.

You might consider my question stupid\dumb, regardless and hypothetically, if, if parallel dimensions do exist, are there exact duplicate of us living in those dimensions. Any good movies on the subject??

Some theories state that there are infinite universes, encompassing all possibilities, permutations, and combinations. They state that exact duplicates are certain.

I think your mixing terms. Parallel universes and multiple dimensions. Physicists think there may be 11 dimensions. That's what string theory predicts. These would be small curled up dimensions. Subatomic small. We, of course can't interact unless we pass through them and catch a glimpse. Quantum particles apparently pop into and out of existence so they may be passing though our 3 dimensions.

Parallel universes would be different from us with different laws of physics.

The many worlds theory say there are many copies of our world but where every decision anyone makes creates a new world so that every option of scenarios exists.

That's basically conservation of energy, I think. So yes. Both would be altered because of the states involved but energy is the same in both.

I never heard of beyond the wormhole but i'm definitely checking it out tonight. I grew up in a house full of trekkies and i'm a fan of morgan freeman, so it's got my interest

Physicist Brian Greene did some good videos on quantum mechanics and time. Not sure wher to find them. Maybe Netflix or YouTube.

So now TIME knows the PAST and the Future? That is really stretching it a bit to far, I would think. REcording and keeping the past intact is one thing but controlling the future is another thing. I think NO and NO!SmugMax.jpg

Yep, being stationed on Guam for a bit, it was hard to convince my more dense friends that I didn't know the outcomes of the football games on TV.

We invented TIME, based on night and day then we divided a day down to minutes and days to years based on the seasons. What is time, is it a thing or just our need to organize our miniscule lives, is it a thing, or something only in our minds. The universe or is it COSMOS has no end or we can't logically think it has an end because there is always something beyond our limited lives, we live in rooms we live on the Earth,we live in our solar system, our galaxy always something beyond what if there is nothing beyond what we think we see? Now we think we can go back in time or forward into the future. If we had nothing to count would there be TIME? We don't know CRAP!
