About 100 F here on my patio. Lots of thoughts about TSPTalk posts and other stuff. I should take all that to my thread.

Here on the North Coast we are barely getting out of the 60's right now. They are predicting lows in the 40's next week. That is October weather around here.
May the force be with us.

About 72 degrees on this patio at 8PM local. Time to get a flannel shirt or jacket?

Celebrating in lieu of federal holiday with a couple of malted beverages.

Please take a moment to remember the actual holiday on 11/11. It's Veterans Day in case you are confused. Forget all that stuff about trying to remember a moment of silence at 1111PM local or EST or Versailles France time, just take a moment to remember all the people you know or have known who served in the US Military. No matter what you may feel about whatever conflict they may have served during they stepped up either voluntarily or involuntarily (going back 45 years to the last draft) to serve. Joining the military will give you a change in your life.

I hope that those of you who regularly posted in the threads that started with * are finding other places to express your opinions. The banner says "The Political Forum is Temporarily Down". Don't give up hope. I also would suggest that you don't hold any appendage on any part of your anatomy as they may become inseparable while waiting.

    Happy happy everyone.

Not sure what happened because I never joined but I really love this community of common investors with a common goal. I know the country is divided so I'll add what hope is a positive thought.

Throughout the Bible, men reject God to their detriment. In the beginning man was expelled from a perfect existence by being duped and wanting to know about good and evil in order to be like God. Things eventually got so bad God wiped almost everyone out. When God gave the Israelites the promised land they did not believe so they wandered the desert for forty years. When they went into the promised land they were told to wipe out all of their enemies so that their culture would not be contaminated. During the early years judges would lead but some were good and others not. When they had Kings they would go back and forth between kings who worshipped God and those who did not in both nations. Judah was conquered first and then Israel fell to Persia. The prophets foretold these events and consequences and Jesus foretold the final diaspora which occurred after his death and Israel is once again a nation after 2000 years as prophesied.

So it’s a complicated history that continues and God either punishes or lets us go through hard times because we have free will and need to learn, but he does it because he loves us and the kingdom of God will be our reward and his glory forever and ever.
God bless you all and best wishes for your investments and your futures now and forever and ever! :-)

One of the opportunities I may have post-fed retirement, is to engage in a new endeavor with friends as paid employee using my professional skills to help provide an emotionally-spiritually restorative environment for disabled vets. That endeavor is in the works, hasn't materialized yet for reasons friends are still working on, still a year or 2 out before the endeavor will be ready for my level of participation, should I choose to go that route. It would take me on a temporary detour (2 years?) from the plans I had already been developing for personal post-fed endeavors, but a soul-satisfying endeavor which would help me further develop skills I would also be using for my own personal endeavors, but would cost me time needed on the front end of retirement while I still have lots of physical and mental energy to spend....

no firm decisions yet, as the detour would also make it a bit more difficult in terms of being readily available for eldercare with parents who may or may not still be needing extra readily-available support by the time I retire.

About 92 on this patio right now. Completed all errands just about at normal quitting time. Thanks .gov for the three hours admin leave. Thanks to all managers for being on leave this week so not declaring anyone essential before they departed for the holiday.

A couple of pending things came up around lunch time. Was everyone using a relatively slow day to catch up on things or was it managers using the age old power thing of asking for things that have been around for months just as the minions are ready to leave for a holiday? It happens a lot here.

Maybe it's just me being tired of working. About seven months left.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, the legal name for the official holiday created by HJ RES 41 signed in to law by Franklin Roosevelt on Dec 26th 1941.

Whatever the intention 76 years ago now it is a day off and excuse to eat a lot, drink a lot, argue with relatives and spend money on things you don't need. Oh, and travel. Lot's of travel.

However you celebrate the day, enjoy, Be safe.

Thanksgiving Day. Looking forward to getting off work, grabbing a few hours of shut-eye, kicking some Green Bean Casserole butt then taking it and my girl over to my family's house for dinner. Can't wait. One of my favorite days of the year; 30-degree weather and all.

High today on the North Coast in the low 40's and some sunshine. Sure better than snow.

Going to try and get some Christmas lights up over the next few days.
May the force be with us.
