Thread: The Patio

knock..knock!! PO are you decent?! How's the weather out your way? Nice day for a pool party? The weather over here has been extremely hot and humid this past month and the whole state is commenting on how we have never had a summer like this before. The tradewinds have been light and sporadic and not offering much relief. But, hold on! Hurricane Guillermo is heading Hawaii's way (CAT 2) and is not slowing down. It should be here by Tuesday. I'm not too concerned about these hurricane warnings anymore, they seem to always fizzle out or turn in another direction. Of course there is always the chance this could "be the one" that hits and it is best to be prepared. Eh, one of the few hazards living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I'm off to Costco to refresh my hurricane safety kit anyway. I never understood why people always stock up on toilet paper in these emergency situations.... water, batteries, canned goods, yes...but toilet paper? I'm going to question the first person I see with bulk tp as to why? I may not want to know.

Batten down the hatches kk, saying a prayer for a wide berth on that system. Use the extra TP to decorate the next door neighbor's house!

Define decent. Hot with dew points in the high 60s here. G seems to be winding down and i hope is just a big rain event for you. TP is because most females use one roll per day and letting the house run low is worse than cheating. I am speaking from experience with many females most of whom were relatives taught by elder females.

Your weather may or may not be an inconvenient truth. I heard on the news tonight that el nino or la nina or la tia or someone may or may not cause a little or a lot of rain which may or may not effect the drought here. So we must be prepared. They never said for what.

Best of luck and let us all know how it goes with Guillermo. Stay safe.

it's a little off the beaten path, and keep in mind they grow 'em big out here in farm country, but the official uniform appears to be black tank tops. also, it is located near the local college so there is no shortage of counter help, and near as i could tell with a quick visual inspection, no fso's (foriegn saline objects) so that is always a bonus.

Watching the Lunar eclipse tonight. Yeah, kinda boring unless you think it is cool how all the planets and stuff work together and wonder how it got that way.

Caaaaarful PO. Getting in to forbidden territory.

Anyway, a couple hours left if anyone who forgot wants to look. Look to the east. Where that big shiny thing starts the day.

Unspectacular here so far. Just the moon going from full to new in a short time and no red color.

Sky was clear and cloudless. Took the dog out at 10pm and around 12:45 - completely missed it.

Did notice the extra illumination though, really bright around 10pm
I like TSPTalk and I think most people here are well-intentioned but if I followed their advice, I'd be hunkered down in my basement with a thousand cans of tuna fish.

Agree PO. We went out to see it but it was almost too dark to see any red in it. And it looked small not LARGE like I was expecting it to be.
