Thread: Windows 10

  1. #1

    Default Windows 10

    Opinions please in regards to new Windows 10 OS. Personally I tend to wait for critical changes. A huge OS which as of today is being pushed by Microsoft makes me be a bit hesitant, who knows what glitches will make your system crash. Does anyone have Win 10 already installed in your PC?. If anyone has it, any serious glitches, blue screens, etc. etc. I've read problems as these are already frustrating many people and Microsoft pushing patches to resolve serious issues. Just wondering what your thoughts, problems anyone is experiencing if you have this installed.

    I have an NVIDIA video card.....All my 3D stuff looks great and is fun to play with. Apparently, NVIDIA drivers and this OS have major issues coexisting. I'll wait!

    Sounds like a good move given that not all GPUs have full support. AMD, Nvidia Release Fresh Drivers For Windows 10 Launch

    As for me, I run Gentoo Linux at home so this is a nonissue.

    i recently purchased a new laptop computer (so recently that it has not been delivered yet) for my kid for the start of school, and it is uprgade eligible to windows 10. i am pretty sure i will be upgrading to the new operating system when available, for several practical reasons:

    life changes and you can't stop progress so might as well embrace change;

    since the snowden leaks and nsa domestic spying political fallout, i hear they only imbed a 'parasite' marker now that only allows access when needed as opposed to constantly scanning the entire system realtime, so that should free up computing resources and make my playing internet poker and downloading nude pics run smoother;

    and, after the 21.5 million fed employee and background check chinese opm data breach, with this new software all my internet financial transactions and personal details should be automatically and seamlessly integrated.

    plus, i got a great deal on a dell. i wonder why the computer was so cheap? how do they even make a profit at these prices?

    The Chinese hackers that hacked OPM are building and selling them to Dell at rock bottom prices.
    In Dog Beers I've only had two.

    Windows 10 Home (The free version) doesn't include BitLocker, which I use. Also,

    Windows 10 is amazing. Windows 10 is fantastic. Windows 10 is glorious. Windows 10 is faster, smoother and more user-friendly than any Windows operating system that has come before it. Windows 10 is everything Windows 8 should have been, addressing nearly all of the major problems users had with Microsoft’s previous-generation platform in one fell swoop.

    But there’s something you should know: As you read this article from your newly upgraded PC, Windows 10 is also spying on nearly everything you do.

    Just to be clear...from microsoft.com:

    Dear community,

    I would like to use BitLocker to encrypt my hard drive, but I have the standard 8.1 version, which will become Windows 10 Home version when I upgrade. Neither of those editions come with BitLocker. Do I have to upgrade to the Pro version to get it?

    Also, this:

    By default, when signing into Windows with a Microsoft account,
    ...is not suggesting that one MUST sign in with an account. It is stating that if you do, it will sync.

    I really dislike lazy journalists...
    Agreed.
