    Default Timing Strategies

What strategy has worked best for keeping you in a bull market, and getting you out of a bear market? Here's how I've done over the last few years:

Thanks! I've been working many years on my system. Not perfect, (no system is), but it's kept me out of major market downturns.

Thank you for your warm welcome, I appreciate it. I manage my wife's TSP account. We are both nearing retirement, and are playing catch up with relatively small retirement accounts. I knew that in order to avoid eating dog food in retirement, we would need to exceed what the stock market can provide, without additional risk. That's why I began developing my timing system in 2007. Much better returns, with about 30% lower risk. So far, so good. Glad that we've had both bull and bear markets to test it in. It's performed pretty well throughout the last 4.75 yrs.

Welcome aboard. You have been able to do this with the 2 IFT's that we have a month? Nice job. Someone to keep an eye on.

    Thank you nasa1974. I've averaged 5 trades a year since 2007. Two IFT's a month haven't been a problem for me.

Thank you for your warm welcome uscfanhawaii! I use a relatively simple 1,2,3 system of technical indicators that have been tuned to avoid too many whipsaws, yet not lag too much at tops and bottoms. What system do you use?

Mr. JR, Have you thought about starting your own account talk? Much better to communicate back and forth. Nice avatar, it looks like a minuteman launch. Are you located near Vandenburg?
