Thanks, Nasa !!! When I saw this post, I thought about my post a few years ago, and all the responses I got !!! Thanks for sharing it with the new Guys !!!

...but I didn't go back and find it !!!

    For the record :

    - assessed value is now $153,170
    - With various exemptions, the Fire District Assessment, and early payment credit, my real estate property tax bill for 2016 was $1,530.54

    Primary residence -
    2200 sq. ft.
    3/4 acre lot
    Assessed value $249,500.00
Property taxes includes 2 vehicles and bass boat
    $2130.00 last year
Our primary residence is in the city limits of Texarkana, Arkansas so we pay no Arkansas state income taxes. It's called the Border City Exemption Law. The only one of it's kind to my knowledge. It was enacted decades ago so we can compete with Texarkana, Texas. Texarkana is split down the middle by the state line. Saves us between $6,000.00 and $7,000.00 in taxes annually.

    Secondary residence (lakehouse) -
    1400 sq. ft.
1/4 acre lakefront lot with covered boat slip
    Assessed value $179,000.00
Property taxes includes a pontoon boat
    $955.00 last year

On a side note, I was talking to my brother at Thanksgiving. He lives in the Highland Park area of Dallas in nice little 6,000 sq. ft. mansion complete with pool, 3 car garage, and apartment above it.
    Assessed value $3.2 million
I almost passed out when he told me his property taxes. For the house, 2 - Range Rovers, and a Bentley convertible - $72,000.00.
The oil business has been good to him.
I need to ask him if I'm in the will.

Property tax is the only decent tax in Kalefornea.

Zillow on the condo is $360K. But, because of Prop 13 it used my purchase assessment value of $120K and can grow by at most 1% per year. Now paying about $1,500.

But, we Kaleforneans make it up with out income, sales, and fuel taxes. Not to mention our electricity, water, sewer, and other assorted 'fees'. So, we got it VERY bad around here...
Lookin' up at the 'G Fund'!!!

For property taxes I pay about $1,150. Looking at some of you all's costs though, mine doesn't seem too bad. haha I pay a little bit more for school taxes, but overall not bad and decent on a Prison Guard salary.

This thread makes me want to move. Here on Long Island NY we live in a tiny bungalow style house with 2 small bedrooms and paying $3,042 property tax annually which is low compared to most in the area. Bigger but modest 3-4 bedroom houses costing $260,000 - $360,000 pay between $6,000 - $13,000+ in property taxes. What a scam.

Are you BOP? I visited Allenwood and Lewisburg when I was with SORT. And did IT system conversions at McKean and Schuylkill for the UNICOR factories. Pennsylvania is really a beautiful state.
