I think we all need a time out. What about you?

It would give Tom and the moderators a few days of R&R. But I think the majority of the board is still open minded and that many posts have good and interesting information. There are a few touchy subjects that have some folks all worked up that are keeping us moderators busy. Thanks KD.
May the force be with us.

NO! These little skirmishes are nothing new and it has been much worse in the past. Hang in there and don't make more of these disagreements than they really are. This was the reason we had to close the Political Threads in the past and it looks like we may have to ban those kinds of discussions once again. No reason to shut down TSPTALK not even for one minute.
Explain to me your reasoning and why you would post a poll for others opinions about this subject? I think it's unjustifiable and unreasonable?

I don't think it's required to have a cooling off period. Anyone reading the thread http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread...treet-heats-up would understand where the issue with civility and fairness of moderation may have been neglected just before a holiday weekend. If the posters would only stop the name calling and party bashing and support their opinion on the subject specified in the thread we could have a good debate that will bring the issues under discussion into focus. Whether we like it or not, our retirements and finances are tied to policies and politics and understanding those issues clearly will make us smarter investors and citizens.
100% I August 14 (cob 8/14). Trying it again until Oct.

It can't be done. We tried it. There will always be the name callers and bashers. In just a couple hours I had to ban our site's top poster. I had a premium service subscriber cancel because of things said. I was playing poker in a casino and I felt obligated to periodically go to my room to get on the laptop to make sure more damage was being done.

I just don't have time to monitor the board 24/7. Please take the political discussion to www.beltwaytalk.com.

    Thanks
    Tom
