Thread: NFL Playoffs

    Default NFL Playoffs

I vaguely recall Kona Kathy being a big Seattle fan...but she hasn't talked much smack lately...

Now...our main team is our Baltimore Ravens...but since we're out of it, and our Saints are also out, we have to abide by the "Southerner's Code", and root for Atlanta...

Well, Kona, today my Falcons gave you the bird !!! Sorry....

Been a Cowboys fan since day 1. Used to go to games in the Cotton Bowl back in the day. Bob Hayes, Leroy Jordan, Bob Lilly, Don Meredith, Walt Garrison, got to meet them all, and get autographs, when I was a kid. My Dad had business associates in Dallas who were friends with Tex Schramm, so we attended a lot of games over the years. It was really cool being a kid in those days. Later on, my brother became a successful Dallas / Louisiana oil and gas man and developed close ties to the Jones family.
Got to meet and talk with Smith, Aikman, and Irvin, and with Jimmy Johnson over the yard. So, I'm kind of hard wired to be a Cowboys fan. I have to agree burro, I would love to see a classic Cowboys - Steelers SB. Funny thing too, I was standing in the Pittsburgh airport a few years back (2004?) waiting on a flight back to Dallas. Looked behind me in the ticket line and there stands Lynn Swann. One of the nicest guys I ever met. He had several business interests in Dallas, so I got his card and gave it to my brother. He called him shortly after. They still do business to this day.
My brother texted me a picture of him sitting with Drew Pearson at the last Cowboy's home game wearing his SB XII ring.
I'll have to find it among my text messages and post it.
    !!!Go Cowboys!!!

speaking of sports celebrities... in early adult life i lived in salt lake city, during the heyday of the jazz nba greats, stockton/malone v jordan/pippen stuff. and as fate would have it i was dating a girl who had a rich but absent much of the time dad. he had season tickets but spent a lot of time in honduras working for unisys on apache helicopters, never did figure out what she saw in me.

but anyways, i got to screw in a jaguar in a garage. and also one time i saw karl malone at the smith's grocery up on the ave's. he had a limo and several smoking hot girls. but the real kick was years later i ended up on a flight with john stockton into spokane, he was a normal guy, we chatted waiting at baggage claim. he is bigger than he looked and a good role model.

My predications for the final four:

Dallas will be thumped by Green Bay and Kansas City will be Throttled by the Steelers

Steelers will send the Pats back to deflate gate and Packers will send the Falcons dewinged back to the peanut farms..

SUPER BOWL...Rogers will ring Big Ben's bell.

    The PACK IS BACK!!!!

My prediction for the final four:
Dallas takes down GB in a high scoring game. Elliott rushes for over 150 yards and busts a big run for a TD in the 2nd half.
Prescott lights up the GB defense. Written and Beasley have multiple catches, Bryant catches 2 TD passes on key drives.
Dallas beats Atlanta in another high scoring game. Just too much Dallas O for the Falcons to throttle.
KC beats the Steelers in a squeaker. The KC defense beats up Big Ben up all night in frigid conditions.
New England and the KC game is the wild card to me. If the KC defense steps up and puts Brady on his a$$ enough times to disrupt the NE passing game the Patriots lose in a tight one. It's all about how well NE makes adjustments at the half. And Coach Belichick is the best at that. But, I don't know that it matters who wins.
Dallas is young, fast, strong, and confident. And they're almost completely healthy. A dangerous combination of attributes.
IMHO the 2016 Cowboys are a better team than the team that won the SB in 1993.
Dallas wins the SB regardless of who they play. Hey, I'm a Cowboys fan.
    !!! Go Cowboys !!!
And BTW, I'm pretty sure I'm headed to the SB this year. My brother is working on tickets as we speak. Fingers crossed.

SO glad I dont bet on football games. With my team gone I'm going to bandwagon the Packers the rest of the way. Rodgers is the most accurate passer I've seen in many years.
They're playing good football right now.
