... brilliant!
Yes
No
Yes, but not 12:30 (explain below)
Since there seems to be a bottle neck on TSP Talk around the 12 noon ET IFT deadline, should we change the AutoTracker's IFT deadline from 12:10 PM to 12:30 PM, to give members a little more time in case they have trouble getting their transfer in?
... brilliant!
I voted yes, I think the extra 30 minutes can help some folks out.
I'm looking for an entry below $EMW's 669, but I'll take whatever the market is willing to give.
As the size of that tracker increases...and it has and will, it's going to get more challenging to post in such a tight time slot. Many of us wait until the last hour or so. The extra 20 minutes is needed in my opinion.
I guess I agree with expanding the timeline, but maybe 1215-1220 ET.
Unless you do your TSPTalk update right after you make your official IFT on the TSP.gov site, chances are you'll get sidetracked and lose track of time...with the end result being a number of people coming in at 1245 saying "forgot to change my account".
If you make your move at 1159...all you need to do is take another 60-90 seconds to make your TSPTalk input. But given unexpected phone call etc...a change to 1215-1220 should be good....in my opinion.
I like to think that all of us here are a lot more interested in tracking our true performance then trying to get a free t-shirt...and that most if not all of us would adhere to the honor system.

um its really slow right now and its 2 est. I can only see the last 4 IFTS but maybe that b/c im on a mobile?
100% see the tracker, dog tired of changing this [/SIZE]
Quis, quid, quando, ubi, cur, quem ad modum
That is the intent - 10 minutes should be plenty of time, but lately people have been having problems getting their IFT into the tracker at that time because of system issues. The new deadline just provides a buffer, but you are right, some may procrastinate because of the buffer causing more problems.
You'd be surprised. It's more of an ego thing than getting a T-shirt. Rarely has anyone ever asked me to change their IFT when the change hurts their return.![]()
I recommend that people still use the excel spreadsheets to track their actual returns. That's what is important. The AutoTracker is really just a game and a tool to help others watch what others are doing.
Thanks for the input folks!
Is not most everyone of our members at work at that noon IFT bell?
I don't understand how this "all you need to do is take another 60-90 seconds..."
can be considered a blanket for every tsp'er, for every job, for every circumstance.
For some, just having a chance to do the post may be an unexpected circumstance....
- that may be why some others are Not part of the tracker; because if you can't guarantee yourself to be able to take part on every IFT, why take part at all?
What was the rationale for the 10 minute deadline?
