Why? You can subscribe to threads and be informed when someone has made a new post. Use your UserCP to subscribe or unsubscribe from threads.

Also, when someone sends you a Private Message (PM) you will be alerted. I use PM's to alert winners of the Monthly AutoTracker Contest.

You can use the UserCP to update your email address.
