Thread: Blogs

    Default Blogs

    Hi all -

We have added a new feature to the message board which gives us the ability to write blogs. It is somewhat similar to what our Account Talk threads are doing now, exept that I envision that these blogs should be more commentary oriented, rather then shooting the breeze. A more formal Account Talk, if you will - like an article. It does not have to be daily, or even weekly. Just your thoughts / opinions, when something comes to mind. The blogs should make it easier to find commentary from specific members.

http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/blog.php - The link to the blogs is in the top menu between User CP and FAQ.

Not all members have permission to create a blog. I have given access to our moderators if they wish to participate. After that I will invite others to see if they would be interested.

If any of you would like to see another member write a regular blog, please contact them or myself, and we will see if they have any desire to do so.

I would like the blogs to geared toward something somewhat relatant to the website, but not necessarily. It can be about the TSP obviously, the market, governement employment, the military, healthcare, anything that gov't employees and /or military personel can relate to - even politics. It can be edgy but if it becomes too controversial we will just have to abandon it.

If you are a regular poster with a good reputation, have a good idea for a blog, and have a desire to create and run one, let me know and we may give it a shot. I am working on coding the blogs to get your Google Adsense ads added to them. (More on Adsense).

Thanks. If you have any questions, please let me know.
    Tom

I would be interested in getting a blog going! If you read around the links you may have picked up on the motorcycle wreck that I was in on Senior Skip Day that involved; hitting a telephone pole head first 40 mph, 6 week come, back broken in 4 places, etc. 12 months later, I walked out of the hospital and the only real diff was my left arm is non-functional brachial plexus palsy (shoulder nerve injury). I could be a factor for some help of disabled people? I don't know about that for I have my 10 posts and I can't figure out how to launch myself onto the auto-tracker? I'm still too busy alot and If I really tried hard enough I could but there's always other work stuff that takes priority? HELP??

    Hi Dannyboy -

Sorry to hear about your accident. I'm not sure if that is the type of blog that would work here, but I'd be willing to try. First, however, I'd like to see you do a little more posting on the board so you get more experience negotiating the site. (You've had some problems with posts in the past and you actually posted this message in the wrong thread and I had to move it )

I would suggest starting an dannyboy Account Talk thread first here... (http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/forumdisplay.php?f=12) and get regular dialog going there. If you seem to get a following, and you get a better understanding of the message board, we'll give it a go. Sound fair?

Here is info on how to get started with the autotracker.

Thanks for offering, and if you have any questions, let me know. Thanks!
