Thumbs up Last Man Standing Football Pool 2016

    Hey folks -

It's time for another "Last Man Standing" NFL pool (the software I am using actually calls it a Survivor pool - same thing) for the 2016 - 2017 season.

    It's very easy… and free! Here's how it works…

You pick one team to win each week (no point spreads). If they lose, you are eliminated. A win or tie and you move on. The only catch is, you can't use the same team more than once during the year.

You must get your pick in by the weekly deadline - before the first game each Sunday. Early games must be picked before they start. All picks will be hidden until the game has begun (for early games) or until the first game on Sunday.

If you fail to make a pick, you get the team that is the largest favorite for the week (that you have not used already). See pool settings.

Good luck to everyone. If you have any questions, please contact me via Private Message (PM) or contact us via email () or use the "contact us" link in the menu on the left on www.tsptalk.com.

Instructions for joining the pool entitled 'TSP Talk NFL Pool'

    ************************************************** *********

    * If you were in last year, you just need to sign in and you should be ready to start. Login here...
NFL Football Pools: Run Your Football Pool Online. Hosting Survivor, Pick 'Em, and Confidence pools.

If you’ve forgotten your password, use this link: http://www.runyourpool.com/forgot.cfm

If your team is coming up as "deactived" just contact me and I will activate it.

My cost is determined by the number of active teams so any team that rolled over from a prior year that did not pick a team in last year's first week was deactivated.

    ************************************************** *********

    * If you are new (didn't play last year) and are interested in joining the pool, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to
    http://www.runyourpool.com/join.cfm

    2. Enter the following information:
    a. In the Pool ID box, enter the number 13188
    b. In the Pool Password box, enter 'tspnfl' (That's TSPNFL without the single quotes)

    3. Fill out the form information, including a personalizing and password. (Rest assured, this information will NOT be sold or utilized for spam email under ANY circumstances.) Please try to incorporate your TSP Talk Forum username, if you have one, in your Team Name in the pool so we know who you are... But non-TSP Talk members can join too.

    4. Make your picks, with the ability to change them right up until the weekly deadline.

It's that easy. If you have any questions, let me know or e-mail runyourpool.com directly at support@runyourpool.com

i picked the steelers again, to win the first game. i was gonna pick the cowboys except i am a steelers fan so i hate the cowboys since about 1980 and also toni romi broke his ba donk a donk, again.

so steelers it is for me. i think i have a bet out for tsptalk silver or rye whiskey against ravensfan but i forget what it was about.

Just a reminder that the deadline is Sunday before the first game, but this Thursday's game can be used if you pick it before it starts.

i am really excited about the philadelphia eagles now because they are going to start rookie draft pick carson wentz at qb after trading bradford to minnesota after their mishap. so rookie with hardly any time or game reps jumps ahead of 2nd place backup and is given the keys to the eagle's car. very interesting development. i am a steeler's fan first but i can justify this because it is still home ground pennsylvania.

so will carson be great or flawless out of the gate? likely not. but i just have to tell you he is a tough north dakota boy and they grow 'em like brick sh*t houses out here. plus this young man has a work ethic and set of morals that should serve him well if he can hold his balance in that venue and community. but what more can a kid from ndsu ask for straight out of the gate? the organization obviously saw something in him that lent a bit of confidence to their trade decision. we have been seeing that same value out here for years.

you betcha, give me the reigns i will run this horse, throw me in the fire, fly or die. would you expect anything less from a starting qb? as it should be. watch this young man and this team. if they can pull it off it should be great, and if not you run your best race with your head up to the finish. go bison.

Eagles get chance to show up Browns after Cleveland scoffed at drafting QB Carson Wentz - Yahoo Sports

When the Cleveland Browns’ brain trust put on the college film of Carson Wentz many months ago, there was doubt. Before long, there was collective skepticism. And when they’d seen enough, there was a strong consensus among the club’s decision-makers: As a franchise quarterback and potential No. 2 pick, the Browns believed Wentz was a hard pass. So that’s what the franchise did, effectively dealing the right to take Wentz to the Philadelphia Eagles for a bundle of draft choices.
In his first NFL start as a rookie, Wentz gets to make a rebuttal statement.
This is one of the intriguing storylines taking center stage in the NFL’s opening week – two franchises disagreeing on a potentially franchise-shaping talent, now facing off in that player’s first NFL start. And with both regimes having something hanging in the balance: the Eagles hoping Wentz responds favorably to their risky decision to start him in the opener; and the Browns hoping to avoid getting instantly burned by the quarterback they finally passed over.
i'll have to see what the local networks and cable company do, if they can show these games or this might be the first time in my life i ever subscribe to premium content and order nfl.network. i think a local place has negotiated to show the first game here, and if wentz don't get his clock cleaned by the pros then i will probably break down and buy it so i can watch the rest of the eagle's season.

not trying to be mean here, b. perhaps if you decide you need that belt worse than you want to watch the season games, you could save those premium charges and use that money to buy your belt with a few months of savings. just a thought.

i was thinking more along the lines of taking the belt pledge money and betting it all on the eagles and getting the belt that way on a parlay.

I get your attachment to the Eagles, b. and the desire to have both belt and football premium season channels. Your option would indicate you think the Eagles are certain to come up roses, but still means deferring the belt until the eagles win and you collect. and if they don't? you're still out funds for the belt. what are the odds?

not sure on the odds exactly other than they got to be better than zero because right now i don't have either the premium channel or the belt, basically no way to lose, nowhere to go but up, good enough for me.

saving for the belt would mean you would be certain to have the belt, 100% odds on winning. Eagles winning? somewhere less than 100%, I presume otherwise nobody would bet on other teams.

If he quit drinking beer, he could have the belt and the premium service. What are the odds of that happening? He's got better odds finding a sugar momma.
