Prayers for a quick recovery, and hopefully you heal better than when you went in.

Just do it right, heal first, then come back stronger!

Hello James, Can hardly wait for you to be well so we can continue to razz on you ...and in answer to your earlier post....i can tell your Back!!!....and no.. its not "socialized medicine". You did not get a "free" service. You've benefitted from your well-deserved "fringe benefit" due to your serving our Nation..and pledging/risking your life! Your Government employer and this tax payer is very thankful to you for your service. Yes..you must be feeling better..take care of your hearttso you can mess with us on political threads.

I sincerely wish you a speedy recovery and sending prayers your way! Best wishes to you.

Wow...just seeing this thread. I'll be praying for a speedy and full recovery for you James! Triple bypass!! Was this a planned surgery or an unexpected 'event'? My father-in-law had a quadruple bypass after he passed out at work and thankfully coworkers were around to call for help. This I learned from him: do you breathing exercises and take your walks each day...just do it!

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

I just had a heart scan this weekend. I watched "Widowmaker" on Netflix a few weeks ago and decided to have it done (OK, my wife did.) It is supposed to be a strong indicator for your risk of heart attack.

Heart scan (coronary calcium scan) - Mayo Clinic

My father died very early (37) of a heart attack (basically clogged arteries) so this has been a concern of mine. My cholesterol could be lower so I expected an issue, but thankfully my preliminary reading was quite low.

Not every hospital offers this as it isn't a big money maker for them. They make money surgically implanting stints instead.

Insurance won't pay for it but it is inexpensive enough. My wife and I both had it done a total of $169. Takes about 3 minutes. I recommend it.

    But I digress.

Guess we are thinking the same thing Tom, probably because of our jobs. I went and had my peripheral arteries and C-reactive protein checked a couple of weeks ago with Life Line Screening and they are good to go. CRP was below average actually. Next in line is to get my carotid artery scanned.
