Default Common Errors (grammatical)

Common errors you see people make in posts, articles, emails, or other written docs.

Maybe we will see our own mistakes and learn from it. I have a guy who emails me when he catches gramatical mistakes in my commentary. That could be a fulltime job for him.

No names please.

Okay I got you - but this one is a hard one ! If I think:
"when you lose your penchant for Lottery Tickets, the loss will loosen those monies for Banana Splits, and you will know you're making headway....(verified by the Cardiologist's scales.)" So loose the noose of the icecream AND the lottery !.....
Is this correct, or have I lost it again..?

Here's one:

insure/ensure

People say insure a lot when they mean ensure.

ensure = make sure of
insure = something you have to pay premiums on
