I couldn't agree more. I can tell just by the way they act, which of my son's friends don't have the "luxury" of a two parent household. It is sad because it is not the kid's fault, and I'm sure most of the separated parents do the best they can, but it is just obvious that it works better when the family stays together. It can be tough and there are certainly situations where it can not work, but a little self sacrifice for 18 years should be the minimum price you pay for procreating.

It certainly depends on the situation. When a couple gets to the point of constant fighting it might be best to separate. The important thing is for both parents to remain active in their children's lives even if they aren't living together. Too many men abandon their children after divorce.

You don't qualify for welfare if you have a man in the house. Another progressive liberal policy to encourage illegitamacy and it's the children that pay the price. And they cause the rest of us to pay a price. You can even take your illegitmate child to high school and they provide free daycare. Some folks have no shame - only greed for government subsidies. You know, the doom of HIV is a lifestyle disease and so isn't welfare in my opinion.

Absolutely. My parents divorced when I was in my mid teens. I don't recall them doing that. When it came to us, they seemed to be on the same sheet of music. They didn't try to one up each other.

My parents divorced when I was 2. My father was a drug addict, go figure....and I know I'll catch guff for this one but, Thank you 1960's!

Now, my dad (some call him stepdad), may not have been a sit on my lap or let's go play some ball kinda guy, but he taught me enough of the basics that helped me get to where I am today.

I have served AD military, and I am serving in the Reserves. I have a college education, and working on my Master's. I never had kids of my own (personal choice), but married a woman with two and I am a PROUD parent after the last 11 years. They call me and let me konw what is going on from time to time.

I have tried to instill VALUES in my children to the point of the Golden Rule....remember that one? "Do unto others as you would have done done unto you" now it seems it is "Do to others before the do unto you."

I believe that morals are black and white. You commit murder, you go to jail for murder. No sentencing. It is the same sentence....life...you can ask for early out, but we get to decide how!

If we stayed more black and white, I think people would act more black and white. And if we apply this acrossed all levels of society, I'm sure that you would see NO RACIAL, ECONOMIC, SEXIST, or (insert lable here) BIAS.

That is why I am a conservative. Let's lay down the law; Lets live within the law; and lets move on.....

I'm right with ya on the Black/White distinctions. The shades of gray is what has gotten the country in the shape we are. It's either right or wrong, good or evil, procutive member of society/welfare.

I've taught my daughter the same tjing and she got a full ride academic scholarship and now has a very nice job, RN, making more money than I could've ever dreamed of at her age. You can work hard and not be a drag on society or you can be the anchor and dependent on the Gov't, which is the way we are headed, because personal responsibility isn't being taught as a good charateristic to have.

On another note, we shot skeet/trap this afternoon. Boy, I've forgotten how much fun that is. Our daughter is getting us back into that, she joined a gun club in Cincy. More shooting this weekend, now that's good quality time and very relaxing. Our daughter is in for the weekend as she is working over the Thanksgiving weekend, so this is our Holiday weekend. So early Happy Thanksgiving.

I hopw your alls week-end is as good as ours is going.
