I think what you do in retirement matters a lot. If you spend your day plopped on the sofa watching tv, well... it's pretty much over. Before I retired, I did go to a couple of retirement seminars....
Your Personal Investment Performance (PIP) for the past 12 months ending 06/30/2019 is -1.25%.
I will state that I have been taking a distribution under IRS 72T rule since June 2013. My current...
I submitted a TSP-3 many years ago... designated a portion, 25%, goes to my sister and the rest to my wife, which she whole heartedly supports. I should put together information for them on how to...
I still follow... most of the time but.. long time analysis is bearing out that Alternate LMBF is not bearing fruit. May be time to put it to rest.
Back from a cruise and a few days behind... I Fund it is! 10 days in Alaska... retirement is good!
Great info... thanks... I use the S Fund in place of the C Fund as it usually has more volatility but the last few years it doesn't seem to. hmmm.. Think I will take this advice and go hide in F and...
Was just about to let my fund ride in the S Fund until I looked this morning... after being up 3% for the month, it too 1.56% dump yesterday.. losing half it's gains. Now it looks like a move to the...
This month, unlike my usual one day late for the interfund transfer, I was actually a day early. Let's see what the S Fund does for us.
Damn.. day late with my interfund transfer but it's done..... year started off great but has been sucky since... hopefully a little recovery as the year goes by.
Moved to F Fund...a day early... Stocks are rollercoastering... best to stay away for now.
I was without wifi/internet for almost 2 weeks while on vacation... it's stress relieving to do so... highly recommend everyone to do so.
I was all ready in the G Fund since the end of January and...
The day the first dump took place I decided it was time.. the correction is about to hit so I bailed into the G Fund. I lost 6% by the time the transfer went through but seeing funds losing 8-10% I'm...
I did make a move tho... I've been LMBF-1 C>S.. decided with the C Fund generally rising higher than The S Fund recently, I moved to the C Fund. It will probably stop doing that but, cie le vie.
The two day dump in equities made me nervous... have to stop myself and say, "stay with the program". It's just some selling by big firms locking in some profit. <just breathe>
Was wondering abut the large cap vs small cap issue. Usually the S Fund tends to be more volatile than the C Fund but the C Fund has been outperforming the S Fund over the past year. Heck, the I Fund...
Any big run up like this will see a correction. We are all reaping the benefits of the bull but the question will always be, WHEN will the correction/drop come? Will a gov't shut down trigger a sell...
Whipsawed? Naaa I've been riding the S fund with C>S... ok, we didn't beat staying in one of the equity funds but a 16.90% return is still fantastic. My account went up despite taking a monthly...
Nice bump ups in stocks the past couple of months... nice wave to ride.
As we approach the end of the month, the move out of the I fund to the S fund was a good move.. the C Fund was better but we get a gain instead of a loss.
I posted about this in a thread in the...
I'm doing the same... I started withdrawal when I retired at 52 with the 72t rule. I let them figure out the payout based on life expectancy so there would be no issues... in the 4 years since, my...
I'm behind again on getting my interfund transfer in.... need life to calm down for a while... and thanks cactus for keeping this up!
Had a great month! Glad we're staying put as I was out of town and couldn't have been able to interfund transfer. Thanks Cactus!
The I Fund I stay... it was good to us in April. Heck, I just looked at my account. I retired 4 years ago this month. Been take a life expectancy withdrawal every month. My balance is still higher...
Heya's... been a long while since I've been here. Hope everyone is well. So many things going on in life I feel like I have been in another world. Retirement has been good. My account has been...
