Not too proud to say I was wrong. 50% S, 50%C as of COB today. Let's hope I didn't miss out.

    Re: MrJohnRoss' Account Talk

And I kick myself for only having 4.42% so far this year. I sat out January like a mook.

    Re: lacaprup's account talk

S&P500 has now corrected 2.5% from it's recent high of 1378. Still a ways to go IMO. I buy back in when the S&P is much closer to 1300.

    Re: Birchtree's Account Talk

I nabbed BTU at $29.95 this morning. Not a bad day's work there. Made up for the bath I've taken in COPX and SWC the last two days.

Interesting article on the repercussions of a Greek default. Seeing as how I view it as only a matter of time....

    Re: lacaprup's account talk

I was beginning to think I lost my ability to predict a downturn. It looks like it's finally happening. Wait for -10% across the board before going back in. Nothing can go straight up even in an...

    Re: lacaprup's account talk

There just seems to be nothing that is going to have a huge effect on the market right now, and the 200SMA is starting to tick up. It's to the point where I wish Israel would just get it over with...

    Re: Crommie's Account Talk

It wasn't just not so great. It was the worst report since January 2009.

    Re: Birchtree's Account Talk

Yeah, but once the dumb money comes in, the market usually decides to take a bath. I'm totally flummoxed by the sideways trading the last few days. I'm going to be stubborn and sit out all of March...

Up 10% today. Frankly, there doesn't seem to be a bad energy company out there nowadays.

    Re: lacaprup's account talk

So far my prediction is looking foolish, but today dawns dark for the markets. Europe is now sending out bad news after last week's Greek deal. Let's see where this goes.

    Re: bmneveu's Account Talk

I am still long UGL (very similar to GLD) as I expect gold to hit $1,850 if not $2,000 before a pull back comes. I know those two numbers a far apart, but usually when gold breaks resistance, it...

    Re: lacaprup's account talk

Yesterday saw .33, .58, and .65% moves for the C, S and I funds. That leaves another 9.5%, on average, for each fund to sink before this bull has a proper leash put on it. As I said above, you...

    Re: coolhand's Account Talk

The lack of positive reaction the "good" news in Greece leads me to believe the YTD rally is over. 10% correction coming.

    lacaprup's account talk

Hello to all. I've been a member here for several years now, but have never made an account talk thread. I've done very well in some years (23.54% in 2010), but not so well in others (only 4% in...

    Re: ROTH TSP Education Materials?

Not that much of a no-brainer. I fully expect my income per year in retirement to be less than what I earn now. I'll be retired! I should think I'll be at least 2 tax brackets below where I am...

    Re: ContrarianJeff's Account Talk

That was simple, great advice. I actually passed Jeff last year, but couldn't hold him off for the final (I had a respectable 23.54% to his 24.06%), but I got nailed this year trying to gamble. I'm...

That is an excellent point; however, I am really impressed with GMs penetration into China's market. For some reason the Chinese love Buicks.

Re: GM IPO coming. Will you invest

Oh, I must have read it wrong. I though it mentioned to actually have the IPO before November. When they file for it on August 16, is that the first day shares go on sale?

GM IPO coming. Will you invest
