I am retiring in January from the federal govt but am looking to become employed by another agency of the ferderal govt. I am in FERS and I have been told becoming re-employed by the federal govt will effect my annuity. Something about being a double annuitant. (??) I wish to use my new source of income along with my retirement benefits to pay my living expenses and leave my 401K untouched forseveral more years.

Can anyone fill me in on this double annuitant matter?

    Thanks.

    Dell

    Dell,
It doesn't seem that any of us have heard of the "double annuitant" before!
    Sounds kind of weird!
I would suggest contacting your personnel office to explain that one!

Spycatcher sounds like double-dipping. I'm sure our Uncle frowns on that and one or the other will be cost adjusted insome way or another. Is there any way you could transfer your FERS retirement to another 401k without penalty? Are you planning on drawing another Fed retirement plan?
