Stoplight, somewhat good news for you. Early deposit of check that is. I just looked and mine hasn't shown up yet. Wasn't expecting it until Tuesday anyway.

Dutchy, sorry to hear about the hold up. Hopefully the EX does the right thing and gets the information in quickly. Good Luck.

Interesting....I wonder if Dutchy got his yet ? I'm thinking it may have to do with how a person's bank treats "direct deposit" ??

I think the bank receives a notice that the deposit is coming. In the past, I noticed our "old" bank (Bank of America) would show a direct deposit a day or 2 before, but list it as "processing" or "pending".

With our "new" bank (USAA 4-Star Checking), they seem to show it as posted and available the day they hear about it !

I noticed that with the Wife's State of Maryland retirement deposit when I switched her's over. I just switched my retirement deposit from B of A to USAA, so this is the first one that went to USAA. BTW...OPM did get the change in my direct deposit correct that I filed on-line !

That's MY theory, anyway, and I'm sticking to it

    BJ,

CONGRATULATIONS !!! Just remember, it'll take a while for the stress of the job to fade away, but it will, eventually ! The Wife warned me of that, and she was right...

Time for you to start your own retirement thread, so we can all learn what kind of obstacles you go through, getting your full retirement pay

Nice thing about retirement is I don't have to worry about taking leave to go on vacation. Almost every day is a vacation. We have a cruise coming up this October and already booked one for next October. And depending how soon my full retirement pay starts coming in along with the back pay, we are looking to take the kids on a cruise sometime early next year. I'm starting to like this. I just hope I can afford it.

okay, when I hear from OPM will start new thread..............went to krogers this morning for my 5% senior discount, didnt even know about it til recently. My worries dissipated when I quit actually doing my job about a month ago. I feel like I am AWOL..............feel sorry for older employees at kroger working their butt off, dont want to brag too much that I could retire at 56! Well off to work a little too hard at my blowout garage sale I am having this weekend.

Congratulations again BJ !! I know how you feel. I see many very elderly folks working at WalMart, Krogers, etc., and feel sad for them... I don't feel guilty nor would I ever brag as we each make our own life choices. I advise all the young people I meet, choose your career field wisely and save for your future !!
