I'm usually up between 6:30 and 7:00am. Yep no alarm clock and I'm up that early. But hey it's an extra hour and a half to two hours of sleep.

I got a notice from OPM today. They are letting me know that my interimpayment next week will be different. The federal income tax withoding is different. I requested a larger amount to be taken out. I would rather get a little bit back then pay out the butt later. I can adust next year once I have a better handle on my income. I love the sign off, "It is our pleasure to serve you". Really!! It will be a pleasure to see my full retirement check next month. But I must say I really am enjoying retirement. Best Buy has increased my hours and I get to open some days. The nice thing is I can quit there anytime I want so it really isn't stressful. Have a great weekend everyone.

Retirement claims backlog slowly shrinks OPM continues to steadily chip away at the pileup, but retirees are still frustrated. July 5

    Nasa,

Glad to hear you are enjoying retirement, too !

I must admit...I'm a little confused about the above...are you saying OPM has FINALIZED your retirement calcs, and you'll be getting your full payment next month ? If so, I believe you've set a new record for the shortest wait

BTW...thanks, too, for the link to the GovExec article...I guess I'm at 67 days, of that "average" 156 days, so I still have a way to go...assuming I'm average, which somehow, I suspect I won't be !

NOPE!!! OPM has not finalized what my retirement check will look like. They are just taking out more taxes and made a minor adjustment to my take home.

Congrats on a long career and pending "freedom" skycophigh -- maybe next month you should change your TSPTalk handle to just plain old "Skyhigh"! Looking forward to hearing how things go for you as I'm not too far behind you.

Well I became eligible 7/14 and it just took me just only 2 1/2 weeks to submit retirement papers for last day aug 31! I cannot tolerate it anymore after 32 and a half years, it's scary what my interim pay will be but boy am I ready, the best is yet to come!
