Thread: Home Page script issue

No issues using the recent Firefox Version 24

Doubleclick. Ha! I used to get rid of that one with Adaware.
Everything looks good to me with WaterFox.

Google now runs Doubleclick.

Glad I found this thread. My computer at work has the same problem. It runs IE8. The error message says:

Adobe Flash Player
A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash player to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.
Do you want to abort the script?
Yes No

If anyone has suggestions on how to keep if from hanging up, it would be much appreciated.

I assume you don't have the ability to upgrade your own software at work, but I'd be curious to see if the latest and greatest version of Adobe Flash worked. It seems to be Google's Doubleclick ads that are using it so it's not really a code issue, but rather some kind of compatibility with the browser and Flash.

i'm getting the same msg. Asking about aborting script. Happens every minute or so....when going to another thread, etc

You're saying it happens in the forum for you? Hmmm, that kills my doubleclick theory.

Yes, not just on the home page. On any page that has an ad with an advertisement using Flash.

I found this. I don't know if it will help, or if you're able to do this at work, but I'm not sure what else to try...

... you can easily turn off script error debugging, notifications, or both in IE, but they are typically enabled to alert you of a problem.


Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and to disable debugging, check "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)". To disable just the notifications (which I recommend you try first), uncheck "Display a notification about every script error".

perhaps it is all an evil plot to convince desktop/laptop users of the obsolescent futility inherent in remaining chained to a cumbersome machine and encourage them to migrate to an nsa/gps-enabled portable wireless network computing device.
