WelcomeLonestar. I'm not sure we've gotten a straight answer on that one. It could depend on your agency.

For the best answer, I'd watch your TSP account once a day and see when it gets added. If you are 100% C fund for example, and your contributions go to 100% G, the day you see money move into G is your answer.

    Thanks for joining us!
    Tom

My last contribution was deposited on Thursday Oct. 20, 2005. This was the day before payday. I'm assuming my next will be deposited this Thursday. Never really paid attention before.

So the 20th would have been the previous pay-right?

BTW, I just checked my last statement, I never do this, and my contribution is either deposited on payday or the day before. Seems pretty random as far as which day. That's a little bothersome. If you knew it was coming on payday and you thought the market would be up, couldn't you change your contribution allocation the day beforeto switch from G to S or whatever? Not that I would........................

Paycheck gets into bank account Thursday night before payday Friday - so it is there come Friday am & the banks open. Is that not the way it is w/tsp? ..it gets into the account Thursday night, and then is credited that morning for Friday's noon roll of the dice. ????

Did it ever occur to anyone that the lending institution was the one that determines when to deposit your hard earned cash. Under the new laws the congress boys past they gave all there banking buddies a huge loop hole by giving them up to 5 days to deposit checks over a certain amount of money. So if the lender receives your money on Friday or Thursday, they can andmost do, hold the transaction and deposit it Monday afternoon after they run the withdrawals from your account. By doing so some accounts do not get deposited until the next Tuesday. This is done so that they can have play money and they also can overdraw your account.Charging you the overdraw charge and if you don't protest they get extra cash. Aren'tthey friendly. I have come to the conclussion this is why Wells Fargo uses the stage in their commercials. Cause 95% of the time the stage was late! LOL!!!

...right - It just seemed to me that when the payroll peoplefigure my amt to go into the TSP that it would go there the same moment that the rest of the `leftovers' go into the bank. ...no? ...
