Is there much of a benefit intrying to time the $.01 increase in the G fund and jumping in and out. It seems thatwould be easier to time that increase than timing the C, S and I funds.

Yes it is easier to time. But if your in it for the long haul why bother, really. Take a look at the last several days I was F bought it at 10.46 sold it the next day for 10.45 could have moved for that penny but thought the F fund might go up so did not, I did buy S on the down trend and capitalized a gain but with risk and if it made .07 today then I just made up the penny I lost the penny I would have gained if I was G and made in one day what it would take 35 days to make in the G. Now I am back to F fund will it go up tomorrow, who knows but I bet G doesn't. To sum it all up in my opinion it will pay if you think all the markets will be down the next day.

If you are bullish I think you take a risk trying to make that penny when you could missa big day in the C, S or I fund. If you are bearish obviously the G fund would be the place to be anyway. If you are neutral (could go either way) then you may try to take the penny when you can get it.

Thanks guys.I just thought it was an interesting thought. I am bearish but I don't think you can wait it out in the C,S and I funds this year. I am now 100% G for a week, waiting for a market drop to jump back in. This is probably the longest I have stayed in G the past 12 months and I didn't do it to get the penny. I just believe the markets may fall as much as 5% and I am waiting to pounce (maybe at less than 5%).

    Good hunting.
