When does the G start matching contributions??? I know it is 5%, but on my TSP statementshowcome I only see my contributions and not the Governments. It says employee $$$ and then total $$$and it is the same amount. I just made 1 year this December. Probably a stupid question but know one at work knew the answer either. thanx

    Never a stupid question.

Your pay stub should have your contributions. Your TSP should have the total of your and agency contibutions. I would contact you S-1 or Admin immediatly. Agency will match up to 5%. What are you putting in (%) wise? On PayDay check your balance on the TSP site and compair. Balance should go up on the Thursday before payday. It does for me.

Currently have 8%. Thats the thing I don't see where the agency contributions are on my quarterly statement. I am going to call them.

I just called them and was told that you have to be with the G for a year before they start matching your contributions. So I should see it on my next quarterly statement, funny thing is she said that it was an automatic 1% plus and addtional 3% for a total of 4%. I thought they matched 5%. Now I am confused.

FERS is an automatic 1% for all employees,. Being in TSP is an option, it get matched - check out the tsp.gov links for their matching schedule.

    Enjoy the site!!

Technically Agency only matchs 4%. If you don't contribute a dime they will still put in 1% for you. Thus the Auto 1% + 4% matching = 5% total.

    1% Automatic + your 5% + 4% agency matching funds = 10% total.

    Use link above.

The first 3% they match dollar for dollar. The next 2% is match at 50% or you put in $1 they put in $0.50. Plus Automatic 1%.

    Hope this helps.
