Second attempt at a post here. I just joined today. I am currently a dod employee and am 2.5 years from retirement (unless they offer a buy out). I have $214k invested in the I fund. I just moved it from the S fund the end of last week. I'm looking for some help and direction in make more $$ in that 2.5 years. Being a Fers employee I can and am putting 15% in monthly, along with the matching 5% government funds. I'm not affraid of moving the $$ around and would like towatch, look, learn and listen from others on this site.

Welcome Bart! You have a pretty aggressive allocation for someone so close to retirement. You've obviously done well lately. I'm glad you are willing to move things around.
There are many levels of expertise represented here but we are all here learning and listening so you'll fit right in.

Good morning and thanks to all.
I think I've done well. I have a lady friend who started the same time I did and her portfolio is about half of mine $112K. She asked how I did it and when I told her she said "oh no, I have my money in the safe "G" fund". Oh well.
Where's a good place to listen and learn on this site? I like to hit it in the morning so IF there a change needed I can do it before 11 A. Isn't that EST??? That would be 7 here. So. Calif.
