Interfund transfer effective date

If one were to make an interfund transfer before the 12PM EST deadline, and it was processed that same day/night, would one's account reflect changes in the market from that same day or not until the following day's changes?

Pcuddy, Welcome to the MB! Your allocation change would be effective at close of business the day it was requested. Markets close so your changes start the next trading day, unless it's a holiday then the day after the Holiday. Holidays are not always international, so the Overseas Markets are open on for example Washington's Birthday. Allocations changed after the 12:00 deadline will be effective the close of business the next day! PHEW!

To clarify for myself:
Before noon EST means I get the share prices reflected after 6pm for same day. If after noon, then I wait and get the share prices after next market closing day. You are always guessing at whether same day or next day will be better market days.

You are correct. That is how it works.

If you IFT before noon, you buy into the shares at the prices posted at ~1800 THAT day.

For Friday April 6th the US markets are closed and the TSP Office is 0pen Friday. If it was a government holiday TSP would be closed Friday. So you can submit IFTs Friday, cool!

Ok great then. I haven't seen it posted anywhere on the TSP site yet though. I haven't called them either. Makes sense though because it is not a government holiday and all.

I hope we got his closed or open thingie wrapped up then. LOL

It TSP.gov is open, do we get price changes Friday night? Or, do they get carried over to Monday?

If they do post price changes for the funds Friday night, I may have to revise my chart.

I'm assuming that Asian markets and European markets are open Thursday night, so is TSP.gov going to make price changes due to OSM Friday night even though the US market is closed?

Per tsp.gov:

Special Notice for April 6: Because some of the stock and bond markets will be closed Friday, April 6, we will not be updating share prices in any of the TSP funds for that day. Consequently, transactions will not be processed until the following business day (that is Monday, April 9).
