Reputable online Gun Purchase Site
Hey guys and gals,
I'm overwhelmed by the number of sites and the wide ranges of prices for the 2 guns I am looking for. I've always bought from an owner in the past but my daughter wants a gun for college graduation next spring. Either a Lady Smith & Wesson 3913, which, I've been told they no longer make, or a S&W 908S which is the equivalent gun. I've seen them from $400 and up to $700.
Can I get some recommendations of trustworthy sites that'll sell ya a good gun especially if it's used.
Thanks for any help. :)

Re: Reputable online Gun Purchase Site
Buds Guns seems to have a good reputation with the forums I frequent.
Impact Guns seems to be one of the worst, with slow delivery times and not keeping advertised items in stock.
If you're looking for used, you might have better luck looking at the Auction sites like Gun Broker.
If you find a store you want info on, then I'd join up on THR and do a search. THR seems to be one of the biggest Gun Forums with the most information.

Keep in mind, that with shipping cost and the FFL transfer fee, you might be better off looking for something in the local area.
Good luck :)
Re: Reputable online Gun Purchase Site
I buy from local guys cuz they are cheaper and local. I do my price research on gunbroker.com and then buy from my local guy. Most will beat or match the online folks.
Here is a FFL search tool from gunbroker.com.

Thanks for the link to gunbroker.com. Great site!

CB,
All the above advice is excellent, let me add mine. A lot of local FFL's (licensed firearms dealers) will locate a firearm for you...most of the time for free or a minimal charge. Once they do, you can buy from a local dealer without going through the hassle of buying from someone you don't know. Just a thought...

Thanks for the advice BigJohn,
I just happened to contact a local dealer in town this morning, just to get a price idea, because I knew he didn't have what I was looking for, but he offered to contact other dealers around the country and try to track one down for me. I'd asked him about the guns several months before and he didn't offer, but he did this time. Who knows. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed. :D

Speaking of.....
Looks like there is a bright spot in the economy.
Gun sales are way up this week, following the election.

While shoppers are cutting back on almost everything, sales of one item are suddenly soaring -- guns. Buyers across the country are snapping up firearms at a record pace
On fear that new government may change firearms laws, gun sales skyrocket.
At 9 a.m. today, the counter was already crowded at Cheaper Than Dirt, a discount gun and ammunition store in Fort Worth, Texas.
"Everyone is here for the same reason: Buy it now or you're not going to have a chance in the future," said Charlie Street, a gun owner.
At Cheaper Than Dirt alone, more than $100,000 in guns and ammunition have been sold every day since Election Day. Buyers are stocking up before President-elect Barack Obama takes office.

(note- I'd wager that guns will not be a priority at all in the future. Maybe gun-show loophole closing, but that's about all. Obama promised respect for the 2nd Amendment- and the facts and figures after the last assualt-weapons ban showed there was nothing gained. I would wager that I'll still be able to pick up an AR-15 this time two or three years from now without difficulty.).

FN P90, though I'd be quite happy with the civilian version, the PS90!
