"SSDD"...."Same S@*$, Different Day" ! Been hearing this kind of talk since I signed on with the Feds, in 1984...

Your engineering comment made me think, though...I'm a retired Engineer, who has my P.E. license (Professional Engineer)...got it BEFORE going with the Feds ; never meant anything to the organizations I worked for, but kept it "active" anyway ! Never "sealed" a set of plans, or a report, in my life !!!

So now I'm up for license renewal, with new requirements, for much more continuing education ! Back in the old days, that was easy...was always getting sent to conferences or courses that I could count...but now retired, I gotta go find (and pay for !) those courses on-line...had pretty much decided that I'd go to "retired" status...

OTOH...with the shortage of engineers, and all the talk about "infrastructure rebuilding", maybe I should reconsider keeping the license active !!! May be able to pick up some lucrative part-time gigs in my retirement !

You can complain about it or add something useful. I've already been chopped...more cuts will likely be forthcoming. Markets are at all time highs, life is good

This is an awful resource, there just isn't anything here at all except dudes wanting you to put 100% in the G Fund. So sad, could be so much better.

Bend over and grab your ankles it isn't over now that the Republicans are in charge. So much for trying to get good people to work for the Government besides keeping the ones currently working.

White House Throws Weight Behind Cutting Feds

"President Donald Trump this week threw his support behind dramatic changes to federal employees’ retirement and health benefits, calling the current system “unsustainable.”Feds’ benefits are overly generous and antiquated, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement when announcing the government wide hiring freeze. The administration’s criticism of federal employees’ compensation package comes after Republicans in Congress have highlighted the issue as a top priority for legislative reform in the 115th Congress..."

Cold comfort, but for now the proposed changes are for new hires, which is ironic, given the hiring freeze.

New hires will not be interested. Old employees with antique skills will retire in place (do the minimum with maximum red tape). This all makes it worse
