Hey, has anyone ever used the Parabolic SAR along with the DMI (directional movement index) as an indicator to buy/sell the S or the C fund? I came across this strategy in an article and it looks promising. Any comments out there?

    Rolo,

Check out this link for an explanation. It is not perfect, but it does appear to be consistent. Right now, it is indicating (at least for the C and S) to be out. It has indicated this since around January 4th (the day after the top of the market).

Incidently, CBS marketwatch allows you for free (if you register with them)to track Vanguard Index 500 (essentially the C fund) and Vanguard Extended Market (essentially the S fund) and place the SAR and DMI in the chart as a barometer. It is quite interesting. They even update the chart at the close of business each night, which not even Yahoo does each time. Let me know what you think.
