That's a smart move Cactus. Since I've remained in S, F and L2050 since August, I will ride F out a little longer. Figure it can't et worse, but we will see.

I think that if at that point in your career you can max it out in 6 months time and use "savings money" to pay bills, and every day expenses, that's a great idea to get 1 more year of benefits and a boost to your 401K at the last minute. Because in all actuality you can turn right around and start withdrawing the money ASAP so it's basically right in your bank account anyway, and tax-deferred (for a bit longer).

Except there is NO WAY I am working to 70 1/2 !!
But there is another article that is more appropriate for those of us retiring closer to 62.

I may leave some in TSP, but the majority will probably go to my Vanguard IRA.

You must be doing better than I am with your retirement investing then. As for me, it looks like I will be working past 62 but I hope not to 70 1/2. It all depends on what happens to our retirement and health care coverage between now and then.

I was wondering if anyone else got it.

Yeah, I can't see anything dangerous in the links, but I also thought it sounded kind of fishy.

This would be the first time they emailed anything unsolicited. Everything else I have them snail-mail to me.
