To get out. No biggie. The worst that could happen is that JTH passes me on the tracker.

I have good news and bad news.

The Good: My 6 year old daughter tried out and was selected for competitive gymnastics team this morning at a Level 2 (pre-team, level1, level2). She will be able to participate in competitions which are run by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). I don't attend practices because they tell us the kids have better focus when the parents are not around so I was not aware of how good she is. She had been bugging me about tryouts for half a year now so when the opportunity came up to try out, I figured, why not? I'm really proud of her. When she reaches Level 3 ,which the coach says happens rather quickly, she will be able to participate in competitions which are run by USA Gymnastics(USAG).

The Bad: My life just got a whole lot busier.

Yay for your daughter, jp. I loved being on the gymnastics team when I was in high school, brand new sport in our school back then, shortly after the 1972 Olympics, which had some awesome female gymnasts, I still remember Olga Korbut, she became an inspiration during my high school years. I had high never-achieved aspirations back then, they also included wanting to be someplace where there was enough good snow to become an Olympic skier as well. but I most remember Olga. Your daughter is getting way way earlier opportunity to get good than us older ones did. what a delightful time for her. go girl go! run mom run!

That's awesome Judy!! You have good reason to be proud of your daughter. But pat yourself too.... for being a loving parent. Bet she will remember throughout her life how much her mom loved and supported her.... a priceless gift indeed!!! Best wishes to you and your daughter!
