    Default Bquat's Account Talk

Hello from Texas. I retired Feb 2010 and have been enjoying it. Had 8 years Army and 25 years civil service under FERS. I've been visiting this site for a few years and now I have the time to be more active on this site. My current allocation is 30G, 40F and 10 in each CSI. I'm a little conservative with a little in C, S and I in case of a continual float up in stocks. I'm also considering joining Intrepid Timers service.

    Welcome to Forum Bquat !,

We are all trying to do the same thing here and that is to build our retirement nest egg so we can live as best a retirement as possible.
This can become very addicting and self satisfying when you make the right moves. It all about the moves.

    All the best, Poolman

Well I'm ready for the markets to go positive. Don't want to be negative on my first day on the tracker. Well if I get to be #620 I can only go up from there unless more join.

I wont say the best days of January are behind us just yet.

Last year everything was hunky dory until Feb...thats where the first slump hit. Then all was good - until May...
I like TSPTalk and I think most people here are well-intentioned but if I followed their advice, I'd be hunkered down in my basement with a thousand cans of tuna fish.

Welcome to the show Bquat. I did 7 years Army, 7 years government contractor with SAIC and then 12 years civil service. I resigned the beginning of 2010 and also live in Texas once again.

Good luck in 2011, you've come to a great place to learn!

Ok, 613 of 627 is a good start. Hope to make 4% or better this year to make up for retirement withdrawls from TSP. Also make up the one time withdrawal I took would be good too. Eventually I hope to have a better retirement than my CSRS counter parts. With pay freezes and no COLA's, I might have a chance. I think I might have retired just in time.
