Citi: World economy trapped in 'death spiral'

The global economy seems trapped in a "death spiral" that could lead to further weakness in oil prices, recession and a bear market, Citi warns.

We'll that's a relief I was afraid something bad was gonna happen.

    Damaged market seeking a bottom.

CNBC blurb today sez do not try picking a bottom here. Lol. Chicken!!

Looking at Tom's column and the head&shoulders weekly pattern we are either about to break lower OR have another Up Week -- which would flesh out the Right Shoulder.

Futures Ugly - if we get a intraday rally / reversal good chance of the Up Week??

It would be a 1 shot deal for the month, then sidelines till March.
    50% S, 50% C 06 Mar, was 100% G; 80% S 20% C COB 08 Jan '24; 100% G COB 14 Nov; was 100% C COB 31 Oct (Boo!); was 100% G COB 12 Oct; was 50% C, 50% S COB 22 Jun; Life is good!

Yes - and with Feb 2014 low as possible target if weekly 200d ema is breached I might be getting me some F fund for the ride down.

No doubt the market is overvalued - the remaining question is will "powers that be" manipulate to "puff" it up so their "legacy" is not tarnished too badly. Do they dare a QE move for artificial stimulation of the (lol) deceased? What about rate hikes, etc etc.

    the mind boggles.

At 11:34am -- Don't see this as the day to catch a falling knife, tho I am sure the Tracker will show otherwise. ; )

Lots of headroom before S&P can connect with any solid resistance. 1815 is not far down tho...the 200 day could hold for a nice bottom.

    I smell money!

You're seeing allot of headroom... check out the chart/video on DBAs thread, there's allot of room to drop too.

There is always more room to drop. I'm 50/50 not sure if I should change my allocation....there is definitely more bad news than good news out there...
The problems in the economy are now Worldly. Lot's of different big economies are having problems. If this continues, it can be worse than the recession. Who knows....?

    Yea that's true.

Last week I mentioned 1830 "ish" as a possible entry point.

That's not far from the 200 MA (1815) = major stopping point for an oversold market?

May be a short-lived bounce though.

FWIW - the daily LOW during that kangaroo tail positive reversal day in Jan hit the 200 MA

Believers in double-bottoms can take heart at S&P 1815??

This market is like a spoiled, squealing Baby screaming for Old Mother Yellen to come stick a bottle in its mouth.

Naughty Baby faw down and peed its diapers (on purpose), trying to scare Momma into helping it back up. Lol.
