Been there, done that. If you really want to feel rejected try Plenty of Fish! lol
I have tried all the dating apps and I have come to a few conclusions.

    1) 90% of the women on those sites use it as a ego booster. The pretty ones get 100's of messages everyday and probably never respond to any of them.
    2) There are 3 kinds of women on those sites. Ones like I described above. Ones with a tremendous amount of baggage, and ones that say "a few extra pounds" and are really 400 pounds.
    3) A huge % of the profiles are fake. The site owners put them up to lure you into paying.

Oh and eHarmony is the worst.

I have been widowed for 16 years this month. I had the best woman in the world for 10 years. I raised our child alone after she died. I didn't date from the time my daughter was 5 till she was 18 because I didn't want to bring a strange woman into our house or her life. Now I'm 52, and have decided that I am just going to stay single.
I give up on dating sites. I gave up on bars when I quit drinking 3 years ago, and I don't go to church. So that leaves me with very few options to find a good woman. I have found a few over the years. But the sad fact that I have found is that when I do find a single woman my age, she is single for a REASON. And that reason is usually not good. lol Crazy ex husbands, mental issues, you name it!

Maybe I'll meet a widow woman one day who likes to golf & hunt. Has more money than me. Is not overweight and keeps healthy and eats right. Doesn't smoke or drink. Doesn't have any kids, or if she does they are grown and successful and live in another state! Hates cats, loves dogs, is a republican and can bait her own hook.

Never mind, she doesn't exist! . lol

Besides, I have lived alone so long now that I doubt I could share a house with anyone. I like things my way, and I love my freedom!

    i totally hear you '65.

no church, no bars, no triathlon stuff, raise kid don't bring a new broken flower into the already messed up mix.

so that basically leaves the grocery store then, i recommend the produce aisle. when you walk past a gal in a tank top bending over knocking on cantaloupes then just say "whoa, those are some nice melons". she will smile, before she slaps you.

response is "no problem honey, i prefer limes anyways, like 'em a bit tart".

well today was my hawaiian birthday, big five oh. my coworkers were kind and decorated my office all in black with assorted tombstones and over the hill stuff. also they bought me a cane, so whenever i had to print or copy i limped slowly across the office to that stupid machine with it. also i got a pair or underwear with the logo printed on it "help, it's fallen and it can't get up" on the front (that assassment is premature i can assure you). and they got me a rock star party bus. it is really a match box car of an ambulance that they painted over and wrote rock star party bus on it, and it is sitting on my trophy shelf with other odd things i've acquired. plus we had dairy queen ice cream cake which is always good.

and when anybody came to my door with some problem i just hollered "stay off my lawn!" they quit knocking soon enough
