Excel has smoothing functions, but there are other ways to smooth data too. Like you said, trial and error.

Even so, I took another look at the site. They are doing analysis on the individual stocks of the SP500. Much more analysis than I can replicate.

Anyway, hope the site is working well for you regarding its signals.

Individual stocks? eek! I hadn't noticed that. no way, I'll use what they provide and be grateful, grateful enough to pay for access probably, whenever they get to that point. the signals are keeping me at a reasonable level this year, considering how much worse it could be by now. one of these days I'm liable to finally sign up for intrepid timer tho or tsptalk sentiment timer signals. I need to grow my account quite a bit more before I retire, looking at current downturn as opportunity I missed back in 08-09, to get in at much lower entry. current system gives pretty good entry/exit signals for 2x moves/month allowed in tsp account when volatility is lower, but with the increasing volatility since last fall, it's making it harder to work with tsp 2-moves/month limitations. that's why I'm below the zero line at the moment.

If only there was a safe haven, like an ark, where you can safely go for free, where the captain of said vessel proudly admits that the navigation of the ship is based upon what he pulls out of his as.

Yep, I'll only pay if I convince myself one of the free systems can't get me where I want to be. and that's "gut sense" when referring to his system decision tree in polite company.

Lol...guess you're right. I shouldn't have quoted him directly.

Anyway, I think I'll start posting monthly a ranking of the ark, me, the funds, the premiums, and anyone else making like claims. The monthly premium performances are 'hidden' in plain sight on the home page; but I don't think many folks know that. I've made bold claims today about my system, so monthly status updates are in order.

I suspect that puts a target on my back...next to all the other targets. Fear not:

perhaps I should've been more explicit, i by no means believe this is an intermediate term bottom, there is more pain to come, so i am going to hold off on eating those shorts, but i'll keep them warm just in case. this might be a good shot here to grab some gains on a hot read.
