burros-ark update: it is baseball season, the boys of summer. one of my favorite things to do in the whole world is watch little league baseball. you see young men go through the whole gauntlet of individual performance vs team sacrifice to personal fears vs collective joy. and there is no script, it just happens, live. anyways, my son's team had it locked up all season only one loss, then had some struggles in the tournament and ended up in 2nd place after 3 down-to-the-wire games in 2 days. if you think 12 year old boys have hormone adjustments and character issues to resolve, you should see them try to navigate those waters at the height of emotion with physical personal performance and team unity and regional accolades on the line. they finished second, and some of them cried, but that is good, that is how you learn to accept responsibility. also they have really nice trophies for 2nd place (1st loser as he calls it) these days. 'yeah dad, this will look great... on my loser wall'. they all stood out there chins up and congratulated the other team though, no throwing helmets or cussing, like young gentlemen. i am proud. here's hoping your bat connects with whatever ball you choose to swing at, and run it out.

signal: sell. the system says sell. el vira is at a negative -12% and exposure at 44%. run, run like the wind, sell. on the bright side, if you like gyros they are about to.get a whole lot cheaper, if you can afford to pay for them in local new drachmas.[/QUOTE]

housekeeping: please welcome two additional riders on the storm, chameleon (usercuz) and blackbird (ravensfan). since the burros-ark system is a predictor for next week based on last week's action (and a bunch of other stuff that is diffucult to explain), chameleon and blackbird have a seat at the new table so their results will figure into next week's calculations because it includes some of july trading but do not apply the this week's results. also, next week's update will likely be mostly 2nd quarter analysis so they will not factor in that summary either, only the new signal. this may get confusing, but it is always confusing, so carry on.

Don't like it either, but my crystal ball broke a while ago. I have seen so many Black Swans floating in the glass that they must be imperfections. So, I will try to keep to a conservative allocation. I normally hold much more than 50% in C/S/I, but I don't want to hold 0% in times of some trouble because I have been burned by that as well...

Anyway, if thing heads off in a normal correction than I will end up around -5%. A 2008 will end up at about -14%. I can live with that... And, I should have time to bail more if things go Full 2008. But, if I am wrong and the market booms because the Greeks are broke or something than I will get a good share of that growth...
Lookin' up at the 'G Fund'!!!

burros-ark wrap-up: as two new members will be joining the ark for next week's signal but whose positions do not count towards past performance, this will be done in two stages. they are included below for reference, but do not figure in to the summary for 2nd quarter results. it has been crazy lately with the greece squeeze on the event horizon, but most overall are handling things well this year. so, year to date through the month of june then, here we go.

    burros-ark 5 7.37% 0 * troika
resident vira ytd% weight direction comment
    mouse 5 3.37% 0 * troika
    turtle 9 1.46% 100 > grease
    elephant 5 5.93% 100 * exit
    blackbird 9 (-1.17%) 100 > enter
    penguin 6 2.15% 60 * grease
    lion 6 3.31% 50 * troika
    donkey 4 5.37% 0 * troika
    chameleon 9 11.08% 100 > enter
    racoon 4 6.75% 0 * exit
    kangaroo 4 7.66% 0 * troika
    cougar 6 2.96% 100 * grease
    wolf 6 0.99% 100 * grease
    owl 4 7.13% 100 * troika
    squirrel 6 1.59% 60 * grease
    hawk 4 10.22% 0 * bank
    el vira
    exposure

mid-year wrapup: everyone is beating both the g and f funds. 77% are beating c fund. 46% are beating s fund. and 15% are beating i (and therefor all) fund, way to go roo and hawk! a 20% average allocation in all funds is yielding 3.02% ytd and 62% are beating that. notably, hawk is at #13 on the autotracker, winning! and racoon, kangaroo, owl, plus the ark system itself are all in the top 100. way to go, keep up the good work.

burros-ark update, some housekeeping: please welcome 2 new members, blackbird (ravensfan) and chameleon (usercuz). also please bid a fond farewell to elephant and racoon. nothing personal, the numbers were just too overwhelming for my gray matter calculator. well it is kind of personal, but i'll get to that part later. one might think that 13 arkers times 5 variables equals 65 things to consider, but it is not that way. since everything relates, the process is more like 13^5 which comes out to 371,293 possibilities. if you try 15^5 it is in the neighborhood of 3/4 million variables. and that doesn't leave much room left over for factoring in world events, politics, graft, or personal bias. i'm telling you when you take something to the 5th it gets really complicated, it took me a fifth just to try to wrap my head around it let alone understand it. so 13 it is. two enter, and two exit.

elephant, you're fired. you never move and you don't need the money anyways. you served as an anchor but now you're dragging us down. i don't need to track when you move because you will only move once and when you do the whole investing universe will feel it in such a way that market conditions make the ark irrelevant. bon voyage, i hope you can swim. walk the plank.

racoon, you're fired. the socialist share everything model is not a good fit for a capitalistic money making system. bon voyage, i hope you can't swim. walk the plank.

so there you have it folks, we remain at 13 players, enjoy the game, and good luck.

    chameleon 9 11.08% 100 > enter

    el vira 78 - 65 = 13 / 65 = 20%
    exposure 670 / 1300 = 52%

burros-ark signal: buy. i know, i know, i don't like it either, especially since the system is committed to each trade at least until the next monday, and these are very volatile times, but the numbers don't lie. buy. i suspect the system is indicating the whole greece matter will soon be on a clear path to resolution. whether they fly or die is irrelevant i think, so long as the trajectory is known, the market hates unpredictability and punishes those who hesitate. buy.

side note: i am going tdy travel status for a while beginning next week and will check in as circumstances allow, my personal account is itching to make a quick few day score, but i should probably take a break, especially from the politics threads because some of them jerkwads are really peesing me off and it's been awhile since i got banned. to all, smooth sailing.

so we have been to the fireworks stand 3 times in 4 days, it is so tempting to light them off i can't hardly stand it! it was my kid's fault today because we were all out of the little ones and he promised he would only spend his tutoring money, not mine. so we got another batch of parachutes and smoke bombs and firecrackers which he likes to put in empty beer or pop cans with some water in the bottom and make them jump and split open.

we do it a little different out here on the high plains, no shiney big warehouses and cash registers, just a little trailer shack cash business mostly. here is a picture of our shop one mile over the state line...

yep, fancy doublewide trailer full of gunpowder right next to a tank full of deisel fuel, brilliant! also notice the mail box securely fastened to a cinder block on top of the electrical box, right next a toaster oven, you know, in case you feel like having some toast while lighting off fireworks. also, you can use the portapotty if you are too shy to just pee in the yard. wheeee!

nothing says summer like a pack of black cats in a red paper wrapper.
