    Default youngMoney'$ Account Talk

    Greetings,

I have been familiar with this site for over a year now. Only recently have I started trying to learn about the ways of the market. I turn 24 this month. I am in FERS so I won't be eligible to retire until 57. Thats at least another 33 years. A one liner I read in one of the threads was "Learn before you churn." I am in a buy and hold strategy right now but as I become more knowledgable about the stock market hopefully I will be able to dibble dabble and increase my returns. For now I am invested as follows:

    C: 25%
    S: 50%
    I: 25%

I am investing soley in these funds because at my age I can afford to be risky. I put 50% in the S fund because since inception out of the three funds that is the one with the highest return. Hopefully I did good research. For me this is not the 100 yard dash, this is going to be a marathon.

    Welcome YM..

There are many ZAVVY traders on this site, so enjoy the learning experience. You have the right idea...get an understanding of the fundamentals, watch the leaders, the news, the economic breifing calendar, currency, oil, gold, and the markets...and read all the charts and learn the various patterns, STO, MACD, RSI, A/D Lines, ERA, and of course Dow Theory, and Elliott Waves...and just have a good time..

I have been sticking to my C, S, and I fund allocations. Somehow I got changed to G fund in the tracker system. I'll have to fix it.

    As 75% is in C and S

This week has been fantastic - with really good consolidation today

The C Fund looks like it has the greatest room to advance

I Fund where it started at the beginning of the year, so I would anticapate a mild adjustment in the near future.

I went in to the tracker today and changed my allocations to what they should be: 50% S, and 25% for both C and I. Been in these for a while.

The gas prices have been soaring!!!! Its almost $4 dollars here in Kansas City. I have already had to tighten my budget because of these prices. I heard gas "will" hit $4 in June and by the end of the year $7!!!!

I have been sitting in the above allocation for a while now. I am thinking about making a move to 50% G, and 50% I. Any input for you guys??

Oh yeah gas is 46 cents in Saudia Arabia?

I'm no expert for sure..but I think the smart money is in G for the rest of this month.

Being so ignorant in the ways of the market, I'm spooked. I'm going conservative. 25% G and 75% F

As you all know European Central Bank is set to make a rate hike tomorrow. This "should" make the dollar weaker.

    I went 100% I fund. Lets see

I think that I've ridden the bounce long enough. I am going from my allocation in C, S, and I to 65% G and 35% I.

I have been spending alot of time at *********.com. I like the graphing capabilities on their FantasyTsp traking system. I come back here because the forums here are way better!!! Anyway I saw that there were a slew of people jumping to G fund. I thought I would follow (Missed the deadline so i got stuck for a few more days). I kept 35% in the I fund because I here talk that it will be on the rise.

    YM,

They must be the same ones talking about "Depression" a couple weeks
ago. The (I) Fund is way "overbought" and I personally wouldn't be looking
at the (I) Fund until the S&P can manage gains over 1320. JMHO.
My thoughts of future market events are strictly my gut feelings and have nothing
to do with actual knowledge or experience concerning the Stock Market or Investing.

Today I put in an interfund transfer to go 100% I fund. Looks like its tanking today. Its way down. Hopefully I will be able to set off my losses on the 35% in the fund right now by moving my other 65% from G to I.

Hopefully we'll see a good bounce after today's tank. By the way SqualeBear, thanks for the insight.
