Monday I think I'll be in the F for 75% and G 25%. It looks like the F fund is doing a little something. Why not give it a try!![]()

Thanks nnuut for that nice welcome. I've just started in here and feel like there is a lot to be learned from others. Every day it seems like something helps me learn more about when and where you have your account. I have shown a couple of guys at work the forum. They should be getting in here around the first of the year. We're always wanting to see how each other has done. The competition is fun but we still hate to see someone lose after a hard battle to win it back. I think I'm going to be in 100% G for Tuesday. I'm within 5% of my personal goal so I'm trying to get a little here and there but not get too aggressive. Any suggs for the holiday? Mike
Tough time for the Markets lately Mike. I suggest you be very careful, don't try and jump in the Market at the 1st little bounce or big bounce as you can see by this week. Wait until a turn around is evident, you don't have a turn around in one day. To establish a trend there must be at least 2 and it is recommended 3 points to establish a trend. Even at that it can turn around and head back down in a snap. Check out the S&P ("C" fund). Be nimble.

It is sometimes hard to move at the right time. I usually get distracted by something here at home before I want to make my move. I'll just have to plan other things after moving. I work 2nd shift so at least I can watch the market during open hours. I'll keep a watch on the C fund.![]()
I'm in for 25% G and 75% F for Monday 11/19.![]()
I'm going to go to the G fund 100% for Tuesday so I'll at least pick up the G penny. Not sure about tomorrow.![]()
How do you calculate to get the G fund's penny? I usually figure after the 5th day of no change. I have seen after the 4th and 6th as well but not as often in the 5th. Thanks Mike![]()
Mike,
I assume a daily interest rate equal to current annual interest rate (4.5%) divided by 365 days. The interest compounds daily and I assume that TSP does not give us the penny until the interest is either at or over the next penny increment. Since we do not always know TSP's exact internal number, due to rounding differences, there is sometimes a question as to the exact payday. However, I do not believe this is the case for this payday.
